hi all, on friday motorised dish stopped working (typical, bank holiday) was watching 13.0e when signal started dropping from 80% down to 20% then after 5 mins no signal at all tryed switching to other sat, but getting no movement, tryed again today and it started moving again for 5 mins then stopped, tryed reseting by holding 2 buttons in for 5 secs and powering down but still no response, has anybody any ideas what has failed so i can repair myself or will i have to phone the man that fitted it, its about 12 months old, any help welcomed, thanks

Have you tried another box? It could be your box or it could be your motor

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

I"d start off by checking all the lnb/motor cables for proper contact.

Hi. Check green light on motor is on and is not flickering as this indicates loose cable connections. If motor is 12 months old i would be surprised if it has broken down unless water has got into it. What make is it and are you using USALS or 1.2? Regards.

I can't see no stickers on it, I've looked for a reset hole, and can't find one, read that other motors you have to push the green and red light buttons at the same time for 5 secs, which I've done but still no joy, just checked for lights, but no sign of life, gonna phone the chap who fitted it tomorrow and see what the problem is, done my head in, bank holiday aswell

Hi. If as you say there is no lights on the motor this is usually to do with cable connections. The motor gets its power from the receiver so make sure the cables are connected properly. You can test the motor cable by connecting it to the LNB socket on the motor and see if you get any signals. Regards.

Sounds very Much like the motor has gone and your motor feed to LNB direct connection is fine.

Hi, phoned the installer today, he came out and confirmed the motor has gone, he fitted it just over 12 months ago so no warranty, he said he is fitting a technomate motor, are these motors any good, or shall I tell him to forget it and wait and get a decent motor that lasts, the last motor could not have been any good for it to only last that long, anyway thanks for all your time and input

If your going for a TM then get the 2600 which has metal gears, I prefer the Superior Dark Motor for just a few quid more this is also metal geared but extremely silent, Its a clone of the Clarke-Tech HH360 from germany where as the Technomate is a Motek Clone.

Thanks m8, gonna phone him first thing and tell him to get one of these motors, as I said he charged me ?200 for the 1.10m dish and motor last year and you would expect the motor to last longer, would set it up myself but it's the alignment what's hard not having the right equipment, friend said to go to alsat shop and get dark motor, but it's waiting for it to come, thanks again
