    Newbie (sorry in advance)

Hello everyone, this is my first post!

I used to have a starview and had all the sports/movies etc for free!! It was great until it didnt work anymore...now I'm trying to get sky sports/movies in to my house and I've found online different things have been said about getting these sports/movies free by using a 'dreambox' with a sat dish and broadband!?

To be honest the starview all I had to do was get codes and enter them in to it, it seems with this dreambox I need to be a tech whiz!!! I havent a clue how to install all of this and would really love a step by step help guide to do it!! Although I'd hate to buy everything I need and not be able install it...I live in Dublin Ireland if this matters! Please help!!

Lagerland is spot on the money here, if your just starting out then everything you need can be found on this site virtually every topic from what to buy to installation and finally to our friend the sealion has been covered.

You just need to search and as advised start reading until your eyes bleed LOL

the point here is you can buy and learn to use the equipment to do the task yourself, but its not simple like the old cable box was

if you are prepared to learn then no problem, you will find the info you need in the dreambox section , but rome wasnt built in a day and it could take you days or weeks or months to learn what you need to do with what you buy, especially a dreambox or a vu box

the problem is that you wont open the channels you want without the C word (or CS words) , and that we cannot and will not talk about as its banned

so yes it can be done, but you will have to pitch in , do the research and learn, as you wont get spoonfed like the cable side, and its not a simple 5 minute patch and connect job either

I should have mentioned above , you dont get them for free either , its CS which is normally pay as you go

and dont forget , dont mention CS

Only way to do it is try and do it yourself.
No point being spoon fed to the point you get a problem and your stuck.
Start at the beginning and ask questions when you get stuck.
Start with flashing the box but read the rules before you make any stupid posts.
If you help yourself others on here will help you.
We all started the same way.

Take a look at dreambox section, and read red stickies, eg guide to flashing dreambox, once you have done that come back and ask if stuck

m8 buy a blade bm7000 not much to do with this box to get it running

enter a few lines of text and numbers and with in 15 mins all sorted

m8 a dreambox is the last thing you need to start out with the blade is fool proof to set up

just look at the dreambox section to see the amount of people having issues setting them up

then try to find the people having problems setting up a blade

Dreambox arent that hard you just need a bit of a dk helping hand.
I can remember the cable days and what a feeling it was when you did your first Pace or Sammy box.
Its the same in the Sat section just a bigger learning curve.

ok, which box are you going to get, dm500s or dm800, and what is your total budget, including dish if needed? then some pointers can be given. how much was that guy going to charge you? and what was box he had?

but its best to learn how to do it yourself. reason if it goes wrong, you can fix it, because i doubt that guy will be as quick to to sort problems, as he will be taking your cash.

                          Hi

Get ready for puling your hair out ad sleepless nights , joking aside as has been said previously while you are waiting for the box to arrive do as much reading as you can so as to have an idea.

Download a few images if you want so you can try out and have a play when you get box.

Dont want to confuse you much more but got to say this if you are buying 800hd can you go a bit extra and go for the 800se.

                          Regards

Lads I don't mean to moan..but I'm hours on here reading..I havent ordered anything yet, but I'm completely lost!! I thought there would be a sticky step by step template for setting up box/dish etc for watching prem and movies etc etc... but everything is going over my head..so frustrated as I don't know where to start, what flashing a box means, or images!!! I like to think I'm a fast learner but because I don't know where to start its annoying...if I buy a box and get a dish installed I don't know what the hell I do then, and I don't wanna pay some dude approx ***8364;400 to do it for me!! How did you guys get started! Anything I search for doesn't help!! Think I'll bite the bullet and pay sky (robbing b&***8364;tids)
