heres a real pic of the back of the house and the next doors dishes.

Im just worried i spend all this money on the stuff and then not be able to use it.

I think it would be to hard to install on a pole 3 stories high.

it's 3 story mate but the 3rd story has skylight at the back and dormer at front. Thanks alot for the offer I used to live in. Newark but live in Stockton on tees now so will be a bit too far for you.

Wot you think will be the best thing to do then?

        Cheers

I would put it on the second storey first and see what u can get..you can always move it at a later date if it really bugs you not being able to go further west..im sure once you are set up that you will be more than happy with 1west and 16 east..

So could I still put it above the gutter just on a normal 24 " t&k with a bigger pole if it didn't get 1w on the 2nd story or wud I need some extra bracket for more support?

            Thanks alot

you would be fine just above the gutter line with a 12in t/k just make sure its a sturdy pole,,steel if possible,,and that way you would get to 45w no probs......

would a scaffold pole be ok?

How long would you say the pole would have to be?

yes mate a scaffold pole can be used as for length, just long enough
for the dish to get a clear view over the foof and enough pole for it
to be fixed to the house wall to keep it from flexing

with offset dishes the signal comes from above thats why
the dish looks like it's looking straight forward and not at the satellite
take a look at this video for dish set up add the w to the link

It dont need to be too high, sometimes when its too high the winds can move the dish and the bigger the dish the more chance it will move.

Have a look here at a pic of mine, its only head height but its protected from the winds and its been sound for over a year now.

rite that's great thanks for the help. I think I'll just fit it above the roofline to be on the safe side. Saves taking it back down if I don't get 8w on the wall.

It shud all be here on tues so I'll have fun putting it up on wed then I'm sure I'll hav 101 questions to ask once it's up LOL

                          Cheers
