    Nextbay = Thieves

    Hi Guys,

Anyone considering using Nextbay to buy a box, then think again ,they are a bunch of crooks, here is my story.

bought a Vu+ Duo, it was delivered in 5 days, so far so good, opened the package and set it up, no go, it wouldn't boot, there was some problem with it and they suggested I flash a new image, still the same problem.

I told them what do you suggest, they replied after 4 days with " let me check if I can get you a new sim card", a few days go by and nothing, so I emailed again and now the reply was send it back to us and we will refund you the cost of shipping and either refund me the full price or I get a replacement, I opt for my money back.

Spent ?70 shipping it back (due to their insistence I use the post office) and their promise was money back after you give us the tracking number.

That was on the 4th of May, every day since then they promise a refund but it never happens, their excuses range from the manager is away or they guy on the mail has no access to the paypal account, other times they just don't reply to my e-mails.

I have a paypal dispute open but all that might get me is my original $288, not the ?70 i spent on shipping that DOA box.

Anyway sorry for the long rant but I hope you reconsider if you were thinking of using these crooks.

hi m8, firstly you should have really come on here with your problem as maybe we could have helped you sort the problem as it could have been a number of things. secondly although i purchase from PRC as do alot of members on here this is the risk when you get a faulty box as it can cost a arm and a leg to post it back, regards mdt

Thanks for the response guys, I did come here but the problem was hardware related, I checked what the error messages were in the console using the serial cable and it was throwing kernel panic at every boot, try to flash the new image "VU DUO secret chip update 120229" did not get anywhere, I thought it was my laptop but I went out tried 3 different machines with serial ports and same result.

so I was sure before I sent it back.

secondly, it might be hols time in China but it has been 4 weeks since I opened the dispute and the box is back with them, no excuse not to refund for so long.

The worst of it is they lies, 4 days ago he said we will refund you today, then nothing since then!

Anyway I know the risk of dealing with online shops from the other side of the world, my tale here is just a warning to others.

I understand where you are coming from mate and thanks for the heads up. I have never had any problems ordering stuff from China, but i can understand how frustrating it can be when your getting lead up the garden path, and you can only spk through email!! If they say there gona do something then it should be done!! Thanks again for the heads up, and i won't be using them.

I've just brought a clone duo from them which had the fan problem I've posted about in the duo section. I contacted them immediately and they sent out some new fans to me. Not had a problem with them yet.

            Hope you get sorted mate.

That's the problem with dealing with China, it is cheap for them to send it, but an arm & leg to return it. Why are our parcels so dear to send in comparison?

I would imagine its to do with how good the currency is of a particular country is. Also do not forget the in the UK we pay 20% tax for every item we buy where as in other countries in middle east/asia there is no tax.

The postage is only high as they demand royal mail del.
                      Other couriers are cheaper.

                          Update

One day from the escalation point and they refunded my $288 and paypal automatically closed the case.

Which leaves me ?73 short, this is the money I spent shipping the DOA box back and they promised to refund. I have e-mail transcripts of their instructions ..use post office etc, still ignoring my e-mails.

The postage is outrageous as you guys already mentioned and I paid for my trust.

one of the reasons why not to buy from china, buy once and it may cost you more.
