See I know time has passed but I still disagree the DM clones have proven themselves and have much more support , more images etc.
I want to be proven wrong and I am going to try and prove myself wrong by buying a a duo clone from my Chinese supplier that has not let me down with any receivers but I will not be proven wrong by purchasing it, installing the latest image etc I will give it 6-8 months (think thats extremely fair to be honest)
Still believe if and when the SE clone has a twin sat tuner it will sell better than the the Duo clone and my reason for that is theres much more support out there for DM clones, we all mostly know that the DM clone market is bang on perfect now (if you buy from the right supplier) Most likely be released if buying from China as Sunray 800SE dual or whatever (if you are that fussed my supplier has told me that it can come unlabelled with the dreambox logo hidden within the receiver to apply yourself. Sunray name is nothing more than to help it reach the customer and not get stopped by customs.
As I said I will purchase a Duo Clone and I will compare it against my Xtrend ET9200 even though the ET9200 is a better spec against the original Duo but it will give me a good idea.
I actually do want to be proven wrong but personally in my opinion it has still not proven itself if everyone was rushing out buying these duo clones were is the the threads to support it?
Look at the 500's ran on original images, Gemini added a timebomb for clone images, that was only one image fair enough but I can see Vu+ putting up a bigger fight so time will really tell but when it comes to the DM receivers there not running the original images there running patched images or images created for the clone receiver.
Also one of my largest arguments has always been there is not a huge saving between buying a Duo clone and the original Duo, same images etc but is it worth it if it goes tits up? With a DM clone you are saving hundreds plus a wider range of images and once again SUPPORT.
Will buy one will put it through everything I can possibly put it through and then I will make my choice on it but still for the price over an original why go for it seriously?
On another note I seen on another forum that also sells receivers who are apparently totally against clones and would happily ban you for mentioning a clone yet they sell the V8 (in my opinion a DM 500 clone runs the same images etc....its a 500 clone) but someone started a thread raising this point they got all offensive said no its not a clone it does not have the name Dreambox on it, so will be interesting to see if they have the same attitude to the Sunray name because we are going to be seen more of it.
