Don't see why not just don't mix up the two coax. I suggest colour coding the cables and respective connectors on the box, or marking one but not the other.

just buy shotgun coax as is used by sky themselves

or stick up your own dish and sly quad lnb and use shotgun cable

The double is called shotgun cable you will find it on fleabay just make sure you get the correct f connectors for shotgun as it's thinner than standard. Or you could just run two lengths of standard. It just means you will have to drill bigger holes, you see the shotgun is designed to go through 10 mm holes

Worth baring in mind that shared dishes should be earth bonded, as the equipment in both houses are effectively connected via the coax's screening/braiding and should a fault occur in either property you run the risk of a major electric shock

Thats actually sound advice i have seen this first hand from people sharing a dish on 3 storey property's, where one dish is installed and shotgun run to either property one has a powersurge and knocks out all the inputs on the LNB, All because they could not be bothered installing a second dish.

Engineers Menu on all Sky / Sky+ / Sky HD digiboxes

Engineers Menu on all Sky / Sky+ / Sky HD digiboxes As you may already know, there is an engineers menu that can be easily access on all Sky, Sky+ and Sky HD digiboxes.

The most useful functions of this menu are being able to change the RF output frequency/channel, Adding a 9 to the telephone number if the system is connected to a PABX or if all goes wrong, then the System Reset does tend to solve a few problems.

Also, if you have a multiroom setup and have had a CLI letter from Sky because your telephone number is automatically withheld, then you can add '1470' to the Telephone Settings which will display your number to Sky when they request it.

Please be careful whilst inside this menu, as you could cause problems such as loss of recordings or maybe worse if you preform an operation that isn't necessary. We cannot be held responsible for misuse of this engineers menu. To access the menu, just follow the below simple instructions:

                  Press the 'Sky' button
Press 'Services' button on the remote
Select the 'System Setup' option which was number 4 at the time of writing this article
Using the remote press '01' and then 'Select'

If you have the new Sky+ HD guide, then follow the below:

                  Press the 'Sky' button
Press 'Services' button on the remote
                  Press '001' and then 'Select'

When in the engineers menu, you will get options simular to below*:

                  LNB Setup
                  Default Transponder
                  Telephone Settings
                  RF Outlets
                  Manual Tuning
                  New Installation
                  Sky+ Planner Rebuild
                  Full System Reset

what about call back ? will you not need to run a telephone extension cable from her house as well ?

or she might have to pay the full amount if the box does not call home on time !!!!

No if she has had the box for over a year sly don't require the phone line connected so you can use the box anywhere with the card and get all the subscribed channels

all multiroom boxes have to be connected to a phone line
for the reason of knowing that the box is at the customers address
and not next door. sky will eventually try to call back the box and when it fails they will send out a letter to say they will be charging full price untill the box is re-connected.

you will be better off leaving the box where it is and running a 2 way link amp off it to your 2 rooms with magic eyes.
then if you do get a letter just connect it to the phone line.
