Which box is best for the following?

Hi everyone I have been reading around the forums and have decided to get a vu+ duo.

The features I am after are

    1. Atleast 7 day EPG
    2. Abillity to attach an external harddrive, whether internal or external (irrelevant)
    3. Abillity to record a channel simultaneously whilst watching another.
    4. I also need the box to be hd.

I am debating whether to get a vu+ duo, ulimo or clones.

Or is there any other boxes that you guys could recommend which will be the closest viewing experience to a sly box.

thank you very much in advance!!

Dreambox 800hd less money and does more or less the same but cant watch and record another.
Are you buying original or clone?
Depends on how much you want to spend.

Hi thanks for your fast reply, will spend roughly ?500

Just seen the Dreambox 800hd, very nice box anyway to get around the recording thing.

Is it only possible to record whilst viewing or whilst on standby?

      thanks

You must have money to buy
I wouldnt spend that much on original box when i can get a good clone for 60% less.

Dm500s is a good starter box but picture is terrible.
Loads of hd boxes out there as little as 50 quid but i like my Dreambox800hd but theres definately better boxes out there and they are more money but thats a great box when you first start out.
Good 7 day epg,can record on it and great support and you can get a good clone for just over 100 quid from China.
Put your gift in it and flog the dm500s.

            Andy.

Never had an original.Your Dreambox500s was a clone but they are very basic compared to the 800.
If you want to get your teeth into sat its a good box.
If you want better you can get a box with twin tuner.
Lots of hi spec boxes out there like vu duo,Extrend etc

                Andy.

Nothing wrong with clones if you get the right one.
Originals are far to much money and offer little value.

If you have ?500 dosh you can pick up an ET9200 twin tuner for ?320, and a VU Duo for around the same.

The ET9200 has a better spec than the VU Duo. Although the VU probably has more teams making images for it.

Both are good recievers. Dont go for a Dreambox single tuner if you want a twin tuner.

i have the Vu+ Ultimo it's a great box and plays nearly everything you throw at it good quality picture and you can change the tuners for sat or freeview/dtt/cable tuners so whatever you want to experiment with it's capable.
Lots of images developer team's and lot's of plugins out there
and the epg can be setup for 7 day's no problem.
well worth it i think anyway

A good clone are ok if you want to take the chance, but a genuine Du' bought from a reputable dealer offers peace of mind. I have seen them advertised for ?350 with 500GB HD installed.
