a single tuner allows you to watch one channel (or record one channel)

the reason for wanting a twin tuner is to allow 2 different channels to be recorded, like sky plus does, or one channel to be recorded and another different channel to be watched

            (especially on different transponders)

you do not need 2 dishes for a twin tuner box, but you do need 2 feeds from lnb,s, which can be from the same lnb like sly which usually uses a quad lnb

@Rizwan007 - your budget will buy you most boxes available.

if you want to watch something and record something else at the same time then a twin tuner is a must.

I would either go for a VU Duo Genuine or clone, depends really if you care if one is a clone or not as they are almost identical and you would never know the difference as a user.

If going for a clone pay ?10-20 more and buy from a UK seller and not china for those just in case situations. satstore.tv is a UK seller of clones.

The Ultimo... i wouldnt bother, how often would you use 3 feeds? (recording 2x programs and watching another?)

In my opnion 3+ tuners is when you have both a fixed and motorised or similar setup.
