did i not advise against buying more than 3 months at a time? sellers charging for c/s are by their very nature dodgy.. so why risk handing over a lump sum for a line thats supposed to last 12 months, but could last for 3 weeks...?
i have a sky dish from a few years ago, which box for HD channels? please advise..

welll therein lies a problem.. we cant talk about that on here, and certainly cannot advise you who to go with, no doubt some helpful souls will pm you in good time, but. Make sure you get a test line for free first. and ideally pay month by month.Fave replies from various threads

I wouldn't buy a pre-configured box with a 12 month sub.. Once they've got your money there is no incentive to offer continued support and you may find the 12 month sub only lasts a couple of weeks/months.
Far better sourcing your own box, learning how to configure it and sourcing your own linesLast edited by dave-h; 6 August, 2012, 21:45.Comment

Correct me If I'm wrong, but as he states his SKY DISH is from a few years ago and didn't SKY update all there DISH'S because of their HD CHANNELS, so I'm wondering if even the dish will work, or is it as simple as just fitting one of the newer LNB's on the older SKY DISH.Comment

s*y updated their dishes to the mk4 which is slightly bigger but with a standard dish correctly aligned he should be ok although thats depending on his location.. he may have problems in heavy rain with the eutelsat 28a bird, regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. i agree, i did use to pay a guy for a year at a time and every month lost 3-5 days, now thats i sourced a new one, pay 3 months and if on a bad month goes down for 20 mins on a sunday morningI wouldn't buy a pre-configured box with a 12 month sub.. Once they've got your money there is no incentive to offer continued support and you may find the 12 month sub only lasts a couple of weeks/months.
