I agree my friend
Thanks guys, I have been looking around but sometimes there are contradictions etc and it gets a little confusing.
I just want a good satellite and box which is easy to use really. No point in getting an all singing all dancing box if i cant do anything with it due to lack of knowledge.Comment

I live 20 miles outside of glasgow so if anyone on here installs them for a reasonable price then great.
I think i am going to try and give it a go. cant help but think i am set for failure but we will see.
Hope someone on here installs in my area before I do something crazyComment

It not to hard just one big tip buy a sat meter you and get them from B&Q, maplins or where you get your dish from. Also i got a compass(or an app for your phone) to find south put it on the ground right below the dish and marked a line pointing south with tape. This save you swinging on the ladder with a compass in one had.I live 20 miles outside of glasgow so if anyone on here installs them for a reasonable price then great.

Its been said before about pricing and installers and when people presume its steep please consider what has already been said before if you dont have the equipment to do it yourself here is a quick breakdown.
Van, diesel, van company insurance, ladders, cat ladders, Health & safety Equipment, tools, Meters, Public Liability insurance, RDI/CAI membership etc...
These all cost money and then you have to try and make a living from it, Or you could get a fly by night in for ?50 who could botch it all up and then you have to call someone else out to rectify the original mistake. so thats even more money instead of just getting it done right first time.
Trust me i have seen it and have rectified horrendous jobs some beyond belief.
I would say though if your feeling confident do it yourself and then when its done you will have the satisfaction that you did it yourself and saved ?200.
