Not recommend for.... SG but for info old astro dish 65cm increase to beyond dish 75cm & signal only increase 5 SNR still effect when heavy rain because it's offset dish. Still can get CS from JB very cheap but i not recommend LNB setting for universal 9750 -10600..

        Just for Info..Thanks

Yes, my small rooftop UHF antenna can receive Malaysian channels broadcasting from Gunung Pulai but not all channels are clear especially TV2 and TV9. The best receptions are TV8 and TV3 (brilliant colours too!).

There are 2 Indonesian channels (I think broadcasting from Batam) but lots of ghost images.

Yes, indeed! Dish that is flat and some even look like a outdoor BBQ ware. Don't laugh. Real and working ones; just that it is usually on the expensive side of things.

( at least now can talk to the guy on the roof with hp, mata short pant time, i hv to shout.) It is an expensive hobby, but the joy is from after you get most chn, ( i hv not bn able to catch all chn with DB). I too hv a legit sub box from Msia which I get HD chn to supplement chn I dont get from DB. If talk abt Astro HD with DB, 4get it, waste time.

Sat is more difficult like chicken and egg scenerio. First u must hv a dish pointing to the right direction. Without the properly setup dish, DB with image oso get no picture.
So u dont flash a DB image 1st then u try to find the Satellite location. It not that way it works. ie, u must hv a box already installed with a good image and knows it works, then you set up yr Dish. after which, noobies flashed box then seach for the signal. if not, u dont know whether yr image is at fault or yr Dish.
So dish 1st or Box 1st, I dont know, seek Master AstroBox help if u can. He has got most of the equipments required for a good Satellite setup. My tools are all hobbist version, very unprofessional.
My dad removed all unsightly antennae up on our roof top because SCV ran a cable into our house. But I missed my Malaysian channels like TV2 and TV3.

So I fitted a smaller UHF antennae but I got a bird problem! Crows and pigeons like to land and take off; so life span of antenna reduced or even signals are distorted by their activities beyond my control.

OK until SH boxes (analog days) came along. And its digital boxes ..... DMs ... bla bla.........

Cable already got so much noobies problem, Astro going to be more difficult. Pls post in the Sat section if need to discuss Astro.
Also, dont expect free IKS. All DB image there in DK Satellite works here in Sg or Msia, u hv 2 figure out how to catch FTA signal 1st, then the rest of the encrypted.
Make sure u can recvd RTM1, RTM2, TV3, RIA (101.102, 103, 104 etc) etc these r FTA, then u post asking yr problem. Dont come here and expect some1 give u all bells and whistles image then byebye from here. Make sure u also contribute back to new noobies with yr findings.
                    master do u mean using dreambox 800se can catch hold RTM1, RTM 2 TV3, RIA 101.102., 103 etch ?

I now stay in HDB and use 45cm in-door with Tinted-glass panel hiding in-door, it works. But must face west and elev no blocking. If off-set Dish, it mite not work as was told to me by another enthusiat in Sg bcos of the ceiling, why cant recvd, I dont know, now I m still learning abt Sat recver and need lots of guidance from expert Masters out here.
For newb, the selfsat(abt SGD1k) is best as it auto-search the Measat3/3a, so save lots of time finding the direction of Satellite.
I started off with Selfsat bcos then I was a newb. I wonder got Chinese clone SelfSat??? Pls keep me informed.

                              Hi Master Jatrophaseed

I followed your posts with intrest on using astro.. Only thing is how did you bypass the Card Access requirement? My research is that most use some form of alternative CA server via internet. Is there a way to do without?

                              thx

I pay for their service too. I hv original Astro beyond legit subscriber box from Johor address. Thinking of free view, i dont know, some expert Master can do it but I m not able to. Sorry.
