ive noticed a lot of people on these forums say they've paid somebody cheap to install their motorised dish, and then spent a lot of time posting here for advice in getting all the satellites properly.

My opinion, 415 quid all in isnt overpriced at all... It could probably be had a bit cheaper, but not by much... Use too cheaper installer and you could well be entrusting an expert fixed dish installer to practice a bit more gaining experience trying to install your motorised setup...

Its the sort of job you really only want to pay once for, so might as well pay the money and know it'll be right...

That would be a Very good price but as i stated previously that the price is FROM ?415 so could in fact run into a good deal more, I have no idea if the Job could be done for ?415 inclusive but from experience over the years installation companys of all types of industry that when they state a FROM price you can guarantee it will always be more.

Lets face it ... With a professional installer you get Public liability insurance etc. You don't get this if Joe Bloggs installs your dish. Dish comes down and hits someone, Joe Bloggs does a runner !

If you're gonna buy some bits yourself and pay an installer to fit, may I suggest you only buy the box, dish, lnb & maybe the motor at most... Leave the brackets, pole and other gubbins for the installer to supply, if they ever fail its his parts he supplied, you'll then have some guarantee on the installation..

And you would be very surprised at how many so called professional installer's do not have PL in this day and age and economic climate most would try and save it if they could believe me, I have it for one i would never do a job without it and two certain trade member organizations insist on it and if you dont have it you lose membership and they check yearly by asking for the relevant documents or lose your membership

sorting out a eurovox with a proper cable feed is childs play compared to sorting out a motorised sat system from scratch

its like changing the wheel on a childs play scooter compared to changing the wheel on a monster truck
