I have the blackhole 179 image on my duo and works fine

make sure you check fta channels if checking for freezing as a bad "aquatic-mammal" will give freezing and glitching issues, so check you can see ecm times by pressing OK twice in rapid succession and the onscreen banner should report the ecm time to you, needs to be low and the lower the better but you cannot improve it so if its bad coming in it will report it as high level and glitching will occur

The most simplest and what i would call bare image in the Blackhole series is 1.7.2 it does not have any blotware crap in it like expanding universe and useless plugins, you could try that and see if it runs OK if it does try and return back to the Vix image

Not too sure what Driver Issues there are but My Solo2 is working flawlessly and has done from day one, the last i hear was some people had problems recording i have never seen this problem on mine and i do keep up with the driver updates which seem to be every few weeks now.
