    Recommended 100cm dish

Could anyone recommend a good yet inexpensive dish and motor. Is there much difference in quality? I don't want it rusting after a year.

    Cheers.

    Joe

    Hows this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100cm-1m-M...item3f21725001

I have a vu+ duo and live in Yorkshire if it matters

the dish in the link is cheap tat so id give it a wide birth m8,the gibertini 104cm is the best dish available for normal money with the orbital a close second... ive installed iss 1m dishes with good results for the price and theres also the slightly bigger triax td110. as motors go the stab 100 is the best with the darkmotor or tm2600 both good motors. depends on how much you want to spend and like with anything else you get what you pay for, regards mdt

Thanks for both your help. The difference in price between the stab 100 (?90) and the tm2600 (?40) is quite large. Is there any noticeable difference for a light to moderate user?

The triax td110 is ?65 delivered on ebay, could these be cheap fakes with the logos put on?

stab are the official "usals" motor and top quality but for general use the Technomate motors are fine,I have both TM 2300 and TM 2600 motors and not had any probs with them I"ve also got a TM2100 about 6 years old which still works ok.
dont like triax dishes myself but others swear by them.
the Gibertini(alluminium) dish with a Tm motor should be good for years.

I have always used orbital dishes and tm 2600 motors
And I can say over the years I have used them I have never had any problems, and I find these the easiest to install,
At a reasonable price I can not reccomend these enough.

i seen strange flaws with the inverto black ultra... wont pull in certain frequencies when other lnb,s will... on a install of a m8,s a couple of weeks ago would pull in 7 west but gave nothing whatsoever on badr4 and the install was 100% perfect in every other way using a 1m orbital on a stab 100 and a vu+solo2,regards mdt

you can pick up a stab 100 for about ?70 if you shop around but as you say its expensive. if you dont want a stab100 and a gibby 1m dish due to cost then id say forget the tm dish m8 and go for a 1m orbital(?50), a tm2600 motor and black ultra/smart titanium lnb(?50) then get a set of t+k,s and a length of scaff pole for about ?25.. get some cable ect for about ?15 and fit the gear yourself. it will probably set you back ?150 delivered, regards mdt

Look at the pros and cons of each but bj1 and mdt are not far wrong there are others as well. I have installed nearly every variety

Orbital also do an Aluminium 1m dish face but after pricing the extra for the Alu dish face the Gibertini 1m is not much dearer, you also say you want it to last for years both the Orbital and Gibertini Aluminium are great but where the Gibertini wins is the backplate is also Galvanised steel with all galvanised Nuts&Bolts the Orbital has a plastic back plate so wont rust but the Nuts etc... will.

Again motor wise not too much to separate the Dark Motor and the TM2600 the DM is slightly faster but again the outer parts unless protected will rust within a year where as the Stab 100 again has Rust protection nuts etc.. galvanised and the mounting pole plate being a 'V' shape is one of the best designed not too slip around on a pole like most have seen with the recent high winds, Your also paying for the fact thet Stab have paid for the official USALS licence and so are badged as such as well as the only motor to come with a 3 year Guarantee, I have seen these in use for 10-15 years plus.

At the end of the day you have to pay for quality if thats what you want or go for mid range with the orbital steel and TM2600 and save quite a few quid

I've that Technomate setup(got mine of ebay), except mine came with the TM2300 motor and I bought separately a set of T&K brackets.

Been up almost 3 years and still working perfect, whereas my zone 2 60cm mesh sky dish is starting to signs of rust on the LNB arm on the back of the dish.

I have a stab, you get extra height with the stab, it helps clear my gutter, so i can get over to 42e, and its had some stick and still runs fine after a good few years.

thanks everyone for their feedback. I have been recomended not to put the dish on my chimney stack... or if I do get a perforated dish. Does this change my satellite choice much as I'm pretty sure that is the only place I can put it, due to trees. Would I be better getting a smaller dish?

                              Thanks again
