Have been talking to a good friend who has been in the sat scene for a long time and he said there was a big court case there that dream have won in europ some were would not say were but he did say that this has now opened the door for them to go after anyone who is selling fake dreamboxs from what he said the fines have been big and will get bigger for the more clone receivers that people are selling im sure its true as it was only time before dream did some thing like this

Yeah some of what you say is true 2tone ! Dream have released a snitch Hotline number and Email address on a few of there releated websites for anyone who has details regarding Selling or distrabution of Clone receivers ... Its been in place for the past two months with some rewards been placed for any information ... I have only come across it the once I will post it if I find it !
To date most of China's imports of clone receivers are coming threw ports in Italy mainly run by a well Known Italian Familys who control the shipping ports which most of the Knock off goods coming into Europe from Asia mainly China as featured by a BBC program not so long ago...
Dream Multimedia might have won there case but they are pretty helpless due to the nature of the product and they way its been sold out of China and shipped directly into Europe, What has stopped is the Ebay sales of Clone models but they have been moved onto more specialists websites.... in a lot of cases these receivers are no longer been called Dreamboxs and are using other trade names which im sure do not visualy break any copyright .....
Im sure they are very worried with clone 600 & 800 swomping the market even worse if the new 500 HD hits the shelves which is of course there bread and butter product and has been for a number of years...
In a funny way Dream receivers are made for us to ripe off Satellite & Cable providers, they themselves are been riped off by China's Clone's so who is realy in the wrong ! I think it cut both ways..............

a while back 500 clones were better than the originals imo, then the chinese guys got richer and greedier and started knockin em out faster than fish and chips on a saturday nite now some of them are complete shite ie faulty tuners, faulty eathernet port, faulty remotes and so on and with absolutely no warrenty, so it looks like if u want a good box wit a warrenty u have to go to DMM or an agent for themComment

The hole thing its like a cat and mouse game one do one thing then the other dose another fta receivers is big money not just in europ but across the world dream just seem to have a good hold on this market not that they run it at all but apart from there being a lack of support for there receivers in irish and uk cable they seem to be happy with c/s why we don't know it still sells receivers for them no mater what they do i can under stand as anyone can why they are pissed of over the clones the chinese did take the piss with it but there was a market for it and they took it on , maybe if the chinese had pumped some of that money in to dev for it it might not have been so bad or if dream had sold the 500 at a cheaper price we would see a new emu for the uk or ireland anyway post was just to point out what dream have done in a court case and we might see more of it going onComment

With a very good source I have come to now that HM Revenue & Customs had a meeting with DMM UK all the borders and the ports including UK AND IRELAND are closed on clone where there is a breach of copy rights .
UPS/EMS/DHL/PARCELFORCE/TNT /Intellink express.Theythey are working with HM customs to make it tighter for shipments from china and Hong Kong. forgive Im not normally rude, but this post is complete crap about HMM shopping imports of clones into UK & Ireland. I just got a delivery yesterday and if anyone could stop clone imports, I think larger companies than DM would be doing the same, i.e nokia and all mobile phone makers.Setup: 2x Dreambox 800HD | 3x Dm500S on Motorised dish Setup

Hmmm.. i too think this a bit far from the truth.. maybe its a story that DMM would like to spread.. HMR&C have a big enough job trying to stop the influx of drugs and tobacco which dircetly funds organised crime in this country..
Clone electrical receivers that account for less than 5% market share wont be top of their agenda

I second that .... HMR&c have of course the right to pull a container of clone electronics at the point of entry... But most buyer of such eletronics are buying in small batches maybe 10-15 or 20 Units mainly because there is a high Percentageof these products been faulty so they keep the numbers down to avoid this issue.....
There is a point to be made that customers have to work on the principal that it for home use not commericial if a container comes in with a few thousand units (Its more than possably it will get pulled ) when its only two or three units at a time the have better things to be doing....
Where our friend KMM has picked up some information is in a case involving Virgin where Police and Customes were given the powers to investigate the importation of cable receivers into the Uk market by a individual and a simular case in the Republic of Ireland where a Galway man was charged with importing ,sales & distrabution of Cable receivers designed to open Cable operators UPC in both cases Customes were involved. Both of the above cases were on a big scale and turning over a good few millions of the past number of years.
Its safe to say ordering a Receiver from china will most certainly make it to your front door, Dream may have won there case but they expect someone else to police it (i DONT THINK SO)...

I think if anything is to be believed a Quote would be provided to back your story up, After running a few different searches on Google.co.uk google.de & google.es I have found nothing releating to any court case ever taken place
If there were to be any case its more likely to be Dreambox themselves for manafacturing and distrabution of said receivers for the purpose of piracy ... which are been outlawed in some countrys, recently Saudi Arabia announced the conficiation and banned use of Dreamboxs throughout there country releating to the high levels of piracy and low subscribers with there national satellite providers..
And as opsmonkey has pointed out if indeed you are badmouthing dreambox sellers here and trying to promote a new IP server box go else where, many of us have been in this game for years and know better !
If you cant prove what you saying or find releation to it posted anywhere else on the web its got to be a load of cock & bull..
