Setantar Has collapsed - Administrators called

SETANTA has collapsed into administration - just a day after rival ESPN bagged its lucrative Premiership TV rights.

Some 200 staff were axed today as restructuring experts at DELOITTE were appointed to the Irish broadcaster.
It has also stopped taking any money from its existing 1.2million subscribers.
Setanta's channels in Britain will "cease" broadcasting in the coming days.
Neville Kahn, Deloitte partner, said: "After a huge effort by the Setanta board, management team and its backers, it has not been possible to save the GB business."
Setanta employs another 220 staff directly - but more than 700 call centre jobs are thought to be linked to the company.
Setanta International and Setanta Ireland are not affected by today's collapse

Setanta Sports News will cease broadcasting at 6pm, it has been confirmed.
The channel, which is produced by ITN, was a joint venture between Setanta Sports and Virgin Media.
56 editorial and production jobs jobs were created at ITN's Gray's Inn Road headquarters when the channel launched in 2007. Setanta and Virgin Media started the joint venture to fill the gap in Virgin Media's channel lineup left by the departure of Sky Sports News in the now-resolved Sky Basics dispute.
200 jobs have been lost across Setanta's British operations as a result of today's collapse.

So what will happen to the sports events that are shown on these channels.
Will they completely disappear or will someone like S*y Sports stare showing the events?
