    Satellite dish and motor recommendations

I have bought a VU+Duo2 and am extremely happy with it, all working very nicely on 28.2 with the minidish and LNB that was installed by previous supplier. I'm now wanting to see what the world of satellites has available for me so i'm looking for advice.

I've decided I want to go as big as I possibly can without having to worry about planning, so a 1m dish has been decided on. Which dish would you guys suggest? I would like it to be as light as possible, I was thinking (maybe misguidedly) that the lighter it is then less wear on the motor. And I'd like it to be black or dark grey. Gibertini, triax, technomate are names people have said. Some have said it needs to be elliptical. I'm getting more confused by the minute.

I have been looking at the alsat dark motor with the LCD display for around the ?50 mark, is this a good motor?

So yeah, any and all advice gratefully received.

Thank you for pointing me there, I had already read that hence the reason the alsat dark motor was pretty much already pencilled in but it gives a list of many dishes and LNB's and i'm really looking for an upto date recommendation based on my exact requirements of a 1m dish motorised. A list of opinions would be great.

I'd need more than a quad LNB so assuming an octo is the next option which one to go for? far too many available.

gibertini 1m dish and stab100 motor.. a good set of T+K,s with a pole is a must also. if you are using a octo lnb then obviously you can only watch whatever bird the dish is looking at. your choices are limited in octo lnbf,s but technomate do a good one although not cheap. regards mdt

Been thinking about the lnb situ and decided to leave mini dish up for other boxes and have a quad lnb for duo2 and bedroom box when I get it. Where can I get gibertini dish in uk? Most sell triax only.

Your better off importing the Gibertini as most of the UK sellers are High Priced, you can get one from Germany shipped within 3 days and save around ?20 as well try HM-SAT

Well, I've had a good look at that site. Brilliant find digicon, seems very good value. Those stab motors cost a few pennies don't they .

Am I okay to link to that site to confirm I'm looking at the right items. Don't want to get it wrong. Thanks for your help guys, greatly appreciated.

your probably better with a Dark Motor to pair with the Gibby Dish first off they are cheaper and secondly you will have better options to return it to a UK supplier should it fail

Inverto Quad Black Ultra IDLB-QUDL40 0,2 dB - LNB - LNB Quattro Switch | HM-Sat

I don't intend on taking any of it down any time soon so I hope it lasts, that's why i'm wanting to get the best I can afford.

I was just about to buy the dish when I noticed that Gibertini do 3 different qualities of dish. 2 of which (L and X) are available at 100cm size. The X is apparently the superior dish of the 2. Could someone inform me if the one I've linked is the L or X as I can't work it out. Thanks.

HI Digitalvandal i did not no there was 3 different qualities of dish,so after looking (google)the x version looks alot dearer than the L versions,so at the price in your link i would say it is a L version but not 100%,if you contact seller (https://www.hm-sat-shop.de/en/kontakt.html) they should be able to let you no cheers shaun
