putting it together is a pain with having to re-drill holes to get
all the petals flush, and it feels real flimsy.....then theres the setting up of the focal point which took ages to get right....
...results.....Well can i get nilesat?....yes i can but only the
verticals..all of them 24/7 the signal drops off a little in the
daytime, but not much....also in light rain and cloud its holding up...on my tm5400 its showing 90% signal strength and 61% signal quality...but not a sniff of a horizontal any time of day..
For a dish of this size its clearly under performing and actually
performing more like a 1.3-1.4 size dish....so my advice to anyone thinking of getting a big dish is dont get this one they are poor, and will only give you limited success on nilesat...

I bought the 2.4mtre fortecstar from maplins...set it up on my own, set the stand up first then assembled the petals, got the wife to help me lift up the face onto the stand, focalk point of dish is 915mm with a inverta .2db lnb...reception of 7 west is very good...all H transponder all day, I do get a bit of rain fade though but not much..the dish is well sheltered so the wind isnt a prob...I live in the midlands...so all in all I think I had a good buy as the dish does what i bought it for.

excellent sounds like you got the petals aligned up spot on to get the best out of it.

are you using a c120 lnb and feedhorn on the dish ?
