Stop flaming each other. The reason satsid gets a lower signal is probably because his lnb hasnt been tuned correctly, although you can receiver thor 0.8west and intelsat 1west with a 90cm dish just north of preston.

im with 90cm dish. i get everything on 1w, all weather. i get everything on 16e, all weather, im in the midlands.

So for what i need, 1M is too big for me.

Like Jackpot said, satsid might need to turn his lnb to get good signal

yes my friend the correct skew will make a big diff...but if the dish is installed correctly then he should have no prob with 1 west at all

                Calm down lads, jeez.

Just get a 1m dish, no planning permision needed and you pull in 0.8 and 16e no problems, wind, rain or shine.

                  How about snow?
TBH the better your lnb the better the signal. These 0.1 lnbs are nothing more than 0.2 so no need for any of them.

                      dish probs

sounds more like the dish is not tracking proper and flat on the top of the arc. Re track the dish and make sure your mount is straight all the way around. Im in staffordshire and only use a 80cm dish with no probs. As said check the skew also this will also effect. i use promax spectrums and rover been doing satellite since 1985

Just been having a look at some of Sid's photos and found these amongst them!

The interesting one is the T90. This uses a clever secondary-reflector design (and is known as a 'toroidal' dish) which, rather than producing a single point of focus, generates more of a 'line' of focus so that you can throw loads of LNBs at it!

Sid used four 4-way DiSEqC switches, each one on a different receiver to speed up his feedhunting!

One does 8w,12w,15w,22w whilst another does 10e,5e,1w,5w. They are the main LNBs in use on the T90, but there are actually 14 altogether! 8)

Where some satellites are close together in the sky, the LNB's have to be close together too. Sid has used special narrow 'alps' LNBs in this case to make it all fit.

The dish is 90cm in height, but is actually 1.06m wide.

If anyone is interested in this setup, I'm sure Sid will be happy to chat about it

Hi m8 the 1.8 dish is sat on a old lamp post, you should see the wire guide ropes for when windy, from pic.The lamp post i bought from a farmer here for ?15,the hardest bit was getting the bugger home .I guess i could find room for other dishes to go up(but)there is the wife,i could here her now ,if i did. Also if i put other dishes up,there are others who live round here.I wonder what thay would say.Iv no agg from anyone atm,so i think i will stay as i am for now.

Hi martin no more additions on dishes,2 is enough .mkgigs you must take into acount where people live when thinking on signel with satellite.Iv only been messing with this since all mpeg2,& i go more back than d2mac.I love 2 see you lot do better with a wave dish & all them lnbs.More i think some of you try to wind people up,its not working & i see more than enoughAs a feedhunter i think i know more about signel than most here.Footprints most dont understand,i can see from some post, some of you have not got a clue.

is always better to have a large dish than you need to cover for rain fade etc

i only have 90cm dish but changing it to 1.2m soon
