depends on the satellite your current or future dish or dishes can point at, plus if the channels you want are scrambled or not too

if we assumed 28 east was the sat you wanted for these HD channels, then its fair to say that only the free to air ones can be viewed (from the uk or eire anyway) , like bbc and itv anc C4 , so not c5 HD and not the vast majority of the scrambled HD channels like films , sports , family pack etc

if you are not in the uk, and wanted 28e channels, then reception can be an issue too

other satellites have their own issues depending on the broadcaster, but bear in mind if the channels are FTA then as long as you can receive them, you can watch them quite easily

    so the 3 factors are

    channel reception

    free to air (or not)

severe decoding issues if not free to air

Hi didn't you read ramjets reply ??
28.2 s*y has only a few HD channels on the sat side unless you have an official box & card & pay for the service Via S*y

With a motorized dish you can receive them in HD channels from other sat's

Mate based on your comments elsewhere you want a box like the zgemma H1 which thus far is a more than adequate box and nicely priced.
read plenty if your not familiar with E2
there's loads about it on here and elsewhere
once youve got your head round the workings you need to head to other forums for what you need to view channels
as against these forum rules to discuss your further requirements

For the short term yes but i would guess they will be working ...the same as S*y did you stop all the channels being shared
and from past experience depends on who you send your cash to for the privilege to watch the channels

                      reading between the lines
ie based on what your after(HD channels)
                      then i'd say yes.
you are not gonna get HD on 28.2E

no cable round here so no idea if the HD side works without a sub (plus against the rules to talk about cs)

as for sat on 28 east (sly to the OP), no you wont get them unless you stay as you are , subbing for them like I do

try not to think of these hobbies as a money saving excercise , generally speaking, if you want it badly, you subscribe to the provider, especially if you want UK HD channels that are not free to air

in simple terms , about 12 months ago sly made changes and made people use the subbed method you have now , especially for HD, so if thats what you want, stay with what you have got and are paying for

if its coming to an end, assume you will be losing them

I know about the sky side of things I was using a box about a year and half ago until the obvious happened and that's why I went official but yh would like hd really and if it's cheaper to get them through cable rather than paying to have a motorised dish I think I will do that thanks for the advice

if you have the cable option you are lucky, most have not and if you want to record would need 2 cable tuners and there is a new box just out 2 cable=xtrend et8000

                            + 1 tuner slot

Buy an official sub , that gets you what you want
