My mate has a spiderbox and he suffers from constant freezing to the point that its unwatchable. That bad that I think he is going to stick it on fleabay.

He has patched it to the latest patch but its still freezing. He is not a happy bunny with it. He reckons he has been banned from Alsat for posting something negative about his Spiderbox.

I must say though that I am a fan of Alsat and their products, and think the support is great. I have told him to get back on their and ask for some support on getting it up an running properly, and I am sure they will help him get it up and running.

Flyingpig hope your mate gets it sorted. Go to the spiderbox forums someone will assist him.

I see from another forum that a spiderbox 7000 HD is being released but apparently much cheaper price. If as promised it opens Canal+ Scandavia (so will the 9000 and SD models) you would be getting some cracking packages.

Each to their own but strikes me as good vfm.

In away it is personal,iv been tame in what iv said to now fearona.Its not that i dont have respect for others or want to kick off & start.Iv been on boards like sathack ro that well passed up to get in.hmmmmmslair where very few got on.Names from past like h7m,grumps abbey big dave,cam man & i could go on.I respect forums sake,so leave @ this but the wool cant be pulled over all peoples eyes.

This is about Spiderbox though and all personal issues should be dealt with via pm or msn. This is DK not Alsat or any other forum so any issues should be dealt with in the relevant forums. It seems to me this is becoming a slanging match between members and not a discussion on the pros and cons of the spiderbox, which is what the thread was started for.

i do have this box it was not set up when i got it and had 2 call the shop he did tell me on the phone how 2 set it up and for most it may be easy 2 set up but i will say it was not for me mind i am old they say you can do a lot with it well may be you can if you know what your doing not like me but lots of help out their on this box but at the end of the day it is a hd box have a good 1 all tc

Does this give you DIGI TV without the need to be connected to internet and does it read the GAMMA card please?

digi keys in softcam so no need for internet, no it doesn't read gamma as far as I know yet.

nice 2 see we arwe all happy at last and yea i all so got a ban from 1 site as i was not happy with the spider box and at that time their was not a lot of help on this box i am so so with this box now and in time the more free hd we get it will have been worth having this box did put me off this hobby but i am sure i will come back 2 it at the min i am just happy 2 trun on a box and watch it and i do have 1 box i can do that with hope you all have a nice day and play nice we all need help some times

Just my two penneth worth here.
I've had this box about a month now and i've got to say i'm pretty dissappointed.
the variety on the gift is ok when not freezing which to be fair it has its good and bad days but the HD content on the gift is pretty much unwatchable which is a shame because the clarity when working is excellent,however that aside i took the gamble because a decent FTA HD box will set you back over a ton(not yer cheap bush,goodmans)and i guess with time the releases with this box may eradicate some issues plus its got a few things up it sleeves.
Now before anyone starts slating me,this is just my own valued opinion,and i'm sure others are happy with there's but for me it just needs a little fine tuning here and there.

yep m8 that was the way i looked at it worked out the cost of a free 2 air hd box and then went for the spiderbox and in time their will be more free hd coming on mine works ok most the time its not a bad box but am sure their are a lot better out their but time will tell a on the plus side when the gift runs out no 1 knows what will happen but it is still a hd box

Nice to see a good honest post about a box,i dont have but have heard about the freezing.We need home owners to give views on sat receivers,not those who sell them.Many thanks mark on your post.

Anybody able to answer my question... Has anybody tried reading a GAMMA card in the Spiderbox?
