I have Just discovered something interesting about sky Subscriptions

I have been with sky for years. And 4 months ago i decided to terminate the contract after getting dreambox.

Rang sky to terminate. I had other services also like ESPN, Asian channels, Nollywood movies. I Terminated everything. Before i did that i put the card in dreambox.

To my surprise up to now i still receive everything including stand alone channels. I just make sure that i dont put the card back into the Original box. I use cccam 2.1.3 to update the card.

It looks like either there is something in 2.1.3 cccam that wont allow sky to send signal to the card or simply signal can only be sent when the card is in the box married to it.

Direct debit is cancelled so there is no question of saying maybe im still subscribed. I havent received any letters demanding payment. Sky land line and broadband were disconnected within hours of cancelling

I cancelled my Sky sub over 7 months ago ,Sky World plus Sports.
Its still working in the Sky Digibox though,it was never disabled.
I reckon Sky made an admin error as anytime I cancelled before the channels went off after a few hours.
Perhaps they are getting lax,not that I will complain as they have made thousands off me over the years.

We cant say its a sky error. View Asia, ESPN, Nollywood movies are pure independent broadcasters who connect and disconnect customers independently. They just use sky equipment like card and digital box.

So if it was a sky error i think the other independent channels should have gone off when i cancelled subscriptions with them.

Sky dont send messages to cards to make them dead.. The principle works the other way around, they have to send a signal to keep it alive.

So they are still sedning the stay alive signal to it. I have known this before and it was over a year on 2 occasions before it went off, and one of them they tried to recoup monies saying the contract was never officially terminated, but when challenged they backed down - eventually.

I have a Setanta Ireland sub too,I'm only paying ?5 a month for it and I wouldnt risk cancelling it for fear my Sky would go off too.

Are you still receiving the above channels even though sky have been sending out new cards.

This is the new WHITE card im talking about.

Maybe the channels will go off when sky fully activates all the features of white card

                              interesting read

My Sky sub ended on 31st Jan but my Sky+ box has been switched off just before xmas .. therefore any signal sent to the box to cancel sub never got to the box/card - I will put my white Sky card into my Dm500C and see if I get channels I used to get will post back tonite.
