They run OScam which can work with most ANY other popular protocol such as CCcam, Newcamd etc. and I can assure you it will work running OScam as a CCcam client (and server if you want) 100% and you can have it up and running within 5 mins maximum if you are using the SatStation firmware. Any questions you have within forum rules by all means feel free to ask

I have two of these boxes and picture quality is first rate. runs well on oscam as a client. far better than radar. on the down side not an easy box for people who have never messed with a dreambox/vuplus or other enigma box. once set up you will have no trouble at all. just getting i setup. worth the extra time and trouble m8 honest. by the way I got a dm8000 as well and it is better picture than that. worth the ?200-ish for the twin tuner. if you get stuck pm me and I will give you a link to a image I use fully setup with oscam ready to go you just edit your details in to the correct file.

        Cheers guys

Might need to look at this box a little more, if it allows cccam in the future, its a tick on the things I need in a box.

thanks for the help, looks like I will need it.

bascially asked the question about having a T90 wave setup with 16lnbs and everyone said its got to be linx and engima.

So narrowed down to xtrend and the solo but then this came up and its a twin. A few more options with twin so thought will look into it.

Hence the thread as many reviews were well rubbish. I guess its improved over time.

I have a s9 which we got as a spare starter box for the spare room and wanted a main box for the wave T90.

if it can handle the 16lnbs - epg can be played with and its can record and you can watch another item while recording - its already coming up the list of top 3 choices.

But just recently a chap at the school (my son's friends dad) mentioned why i dont have cccam (man even the dads at school know more about cccam than i do).

This is where the cccam questions comes into the mix, i guess its a feature I need to get.

So I guess I better take a closer look. But now more problems

its a twin and there is two places offering twins - 1 is 199 and the other is 229 - whats going on - How many twins are there and why the huge price difference.

D7 how much did you pay and is 199 a good price if there are the same?

cheers guys for the input - grateful for some last min input.

I'm guessing the ?229 price will be us, it's not a massive difference in the respect of we actually have them in stock, we are NOT dropshipping like others, we don't charge for next working day delivery, we include fitting of the second tuner into the price and we pre-flash each and every one with the very latest bootloader and SatStation firmware before despatch, you can have ours working within minutes of having it out the box!

Please remember we were the first to be offering these in the UK, we are the only ones offering decent support for them (you give me a question about it and I'll answer it), we actually use, try and support EVERY receiver we sell, if you want to buy from someone that's probably never even actually seen one themselves then perhaps short term you are saving a few pounds, in the long run please, please speak to who you are purchasing from in advance (be that us or not) as you'll soon know who knows what about the product they're selling

Just worked it out, you are the 229 people and the other came up on the Google search while I wad looking for reviews. E..p... was the other supplier with the 5 year support on everything, I guess you will know them. So they just sell the unit and you have to do everything from the start.

With the firms added its a case of searching Sats and you are away. Is the cam just as easy to do or difficult as this will be my first main enigma box and never used one of them before.

Just making some final checks that this is better than the xtrend and solo.

            Cheers

Yes that's right is would be a case of first setting up the tuner(s) suitable to your setup (remember each tuner will need it's own feed if you want to record one channel while watching another) then either scanning manually for channels, downloading an update to date motorised channel list from the SatStation Addons server or finding another pre-made channel list that suits your needs (I'm sure there is one made for the 16x LNB systems - have a search). This part of setup will be the same more or less for any of the Enigma2 based receivers you choose no mater what the make or model.

OScam setup if very easy as well, just a quick download again from the addons server and then a quick configuration which you will do by FTP, it should only take a couple of mins to get this right, we naturally can't help a great deal with this aspect but happy to point you in the right direction.

in all honesty if the qbox only had one tuner i would say go for the solo as I have a solo knocking about very stable easy box to play with but add to the mix the second tuner the qbox is the only enigma2 box at this price nothing comes close to it. I really do like the qbox but not for the numpty guy who dont want to learn how to drive the box in the first place. If you get one I will help you set it up if you want m8.

I will most likely take you up with the help, I am in the process of getting my final research done and finding out if there are many cam users of the QB, at the moment I am struggling to find anyone who uses it. A few more places to check and read what everyone says

Hope to buy a box on Monday, I would like it with me sometime this week.

                  cheers

Have a look at my reply in post #16 above, does this not already answer your question on softcams or do you need to know more? If so let me know what and I'll be happy to answer (providing it's within forum rules of course). As I say we deal with them day in and day out and I know them like the back of my hand by now!
