Dreambox 800HD vs SpiderBox 9000HD

I'm looking to buy 1 but need to know which one is better?
A satelite version
do they have the subtitles option like the DM500 used to have?

a lot depends on what exactly you want,are you conversent with Linux(DM) or do you want pretty much plug/play(spider) ?
what type of dish do you have/getting(static dish or motorised or other) ?
what are the channels you want.
and the big question how much to spend
just a few questions which might help peeps give you better advice

well i am going to use it for card sharing

the dm800 wins hands down just look at the shelf life of the other dreambox like the 500s still being copied today.
Have a look at the new dreambox coming out and there specs they do cost more than the spiderbox but like my old man used to say"you have to be a rich man to shop at woolies"
ie if you buy qualty you wont have to keep replacing it.
As for the free gift you can get all them channels plus more for free if you are willing to do a bit of searching on the internet

yep on here thats about as far as you can go
although both boxes are capable.
price wise i guess there similar if you shop around although generaly speaking from what i've seen the spider will be a bit cheaper and dont forget i'm comparing with a DM clone box.I've got a spider and the HD is far better than a standard sky HD box IMO.
best of doing a bit of reading on both boxes but also look at the spider 7000HD which does pretty much what the 9000HD does and at a better price

the spiderbox has subtitle option as well
if you going to c/s then the dreambox is the stb for you

i understood that at digital-koas the members had freedom of speech unlike the al#at forum
with respect no one has made you read the posts that deal with spiderbox's

maybe a moderator can clarify this position is this not the section general satellite tv forum and as you have pointed out there is no spiderbox section, so also some clarification is required to confirm a spiderbox is indeed a satellite box and any threads are in the correct section

LOL, you are so funny, I think people have the right to ask about any STB here, there is no rule about no SpiderBox discussions here at DK, so if people want to ask about it then let them, just because you have a one sided view don't mean others are the same. So you had a bad experience with Alsat and Darkman, others have had good one's.

Considering one of the other threads with a good review of this box got deleted due to your reply's to it.

Alsat are not the only one's who sell the SpiderBox.

Now is the time to actually grow up and help people out, instead of just slagging everything and everybody off.

It's actually you and others like you stopping me donating to DK, DK is a great site but some people like to spoil it.

ok lets ban the spiderbox but ban dreambox and any other linux box or anything capable of cardshare
lets not have one rule for one and one rule for another

At the end of the day its all about opinions and i think on here we're all allowed an opinion.As has been said some have had good/bad dealings with the interested party of the spiderbox but that wasn't really what the OP was asking and anyway if he's the same gambino as on other forums it would appear he's gone for the Spider 7000HD so i believe his question is no longer relevent.
