well, i have got a spiderbox because its HD and cheap..no other big reason really.....I am not interested in the gift at all. I would imagine that once its patched you do not need it to be connected to interweb at all, because it can be updated via USB stick..However the interweb is needed for the gift to work.....I am impressed with it apart from i am one of those few who cannot get it to connect to CCcam 2.13 or 2.1.4...for whatever reason that is
New software are Up again with more developmets from last Night...
Some one says:- what is Special ,a part of the gift !?...
Spiderbox it self is Special with all patches and Developmets on C/s and easy to use for eny one.
Yeah well...It still wont work with 2.1.3 or 2.1.4...And i have proof right here....so something aint right Bobo !!
I posted on A***t under sodium1 with my problem, and the mod's got all shirty and closed the thread........Frightened of constructive critisism. Get 2.1.3/4 sorted please.
Have tested here myself on the 7000 and 9000 and works 100% here with CCcam 2.1.4 server, not that I doubt you are having problems scam, and not sure why you are, but they are working and working well.
I'm interested in the Spider box.
I know it is easy to setup for gift etc, but what happens after it has stopped?
What then?
Sorry if I seem daft but surely you will need a connection to somewhere?
Frank
Well this is on of the great thing with the Spiderbox, you don't as such have to learn CCcam, they are setup in the on screen menu, so if you have your c line you can easily add this via the menu using your remote control, no FTP or network knowledge required!
Probably is possible in some form but not really advised, your answer is to use the likes of the Homeplugs, this will use your mains wiring in your house to send the internet 'signal' round from your router to where ever your Spiderbox is at (you can also use the Homeplugs for any other equipment that needs a wired internet connection).
There are also wireless bridges available but in my experience I wouldn't advise it, they can work well for some, not for others, as is the nature of wireless, go for the Homeplugs, they work well!
Hi, does anyone know if i can connect the spider box to my pc (for gift channels) rather than a router as the router is miles away from my receiver.
Many Thanks
I"ve got my TM500 connected via cat5 cable on a 20mt run to my router no probs and its cheaper than home plugs.(they have them as stock items up to 50mts long)

This is what i have done.........I got myself a secondhand Linksys WRT54GS router from fleabay for ?12 ( other make and model router can also do this )....I then Flashed the router with DDWRT firmware ( there are tutorials on Youtube about this...dead easy ), This then enabled the Router to be used as a Wireless bridge ( something what was not available with the original linksys firmware ) With the wireless bridge enabled on the Linksys router it will connect wirelessly to your Router in your house ! This will then give you 4 more additional Ethernet points on your new linksys router....so you can plug other items into the Linksys router as well, we use it for our Spiderbox and before that it worked ok on a Dreambox......Simples eh ??
p.s This will also work on X Box live etc

Yep this is definitely another option, will work fine, we sell both 10m and 20m ready-made cables, depending on your setup though this might or might not be an option, depends how easy it is to lay the cable in your house or how easy to hide etc. (if you even need to). Homeplugs are definitely the neater answer, but also the more expensive option, both ways will work well, wireless probably not so well.
