    spider or dreambox ?

Hi Guys , this is my first post on this brilliant site so please bear with me, at present i have a TM5300 with motorised dish and i now want to upgrade due to thor going Nag 3, i am not technically gifted and have an installer coming in to set up for me, i had in my mind to go with spiderbox 9000 hd but he said the way to go is dreambox , i only want this to watch the footie. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated or even if you can suggest another stb .
    Mant thanks.

Dreambox can be quite daunting for beginners. But is a top stb.
If you want footy and are going to buy a card as well then the spiderbox is a good cheap option.
Cards can be had cheap and then you could possibly do cs.
Sorry cannot say anymore on cs you will need to google it as it's against forum rules.

you could also try the duo vu+ box they are very good.Dont go for the spiderbox solely on the ground you are not technicaly gifted as one day you will have to set up c/s when the free gift runs out.
Dreambox have the best support on the internet with every web site having a section and resident experts. There are many images for them and a lot of the software other boxes use are deviations of software developed for the dreambox seting up a dreambox is a learning curve but not a mountain with some reading and a little help you will get there in no time

Just to add, sharing via a spiderbox is easier than nearly any other stb.
This is a fact as it's non linux.
Can all be done via remote.

Unless you have not activated the gift ( like myself ) Then it may sell easier...But then i suppose you are supporting payservers if you advertise it as having a gift++++

                  Dreambox!!!!!

Sure it's got a learning curve but it isn't rocket science otherwise there wouldn't be so many people out there with them.

There are so many forums and guides on the internet to help you with the Dreambox that you'll be fine. You just need to be patient and be able to follow a set of instructions to the letter.

Also if your budget can stretch to it try and buy a real Dreambox and not a clone especially as it's your first box.

I originally bought my Dreambox just for the football but you soon get sucked in by all the stuff it can do and you'll be hooked.

Dreamboxes have been around for years and the support for them is fantastic. The Duo boxes are supposedly the new pretenders to the linux box throne but they are still new and only time will tell.

I must admit I don't really know anything about Spiderboxes apart from the fact that are being hawked by the Albanians on the "other" satellite website. Just like the Azbox before that.

Yes i kinda agree with 215liverpool..A dreambox is a good machine, and even a better investment if its true that only the latest version of CCCam will be only working on original multimedia machines....So if you want a future proof machine and you are prepared to learn about c/s then a original dreambox will do you good for many years, but like many people ( like me ) there is allways a family budget to stick too, and paying the mortgage etc is allways going to be number 1 priority ( and so it should be ) against paying over ?300 for a original box, so many people will choose to buy a clone box for abot ?60 and run the risk of eventually owning a useless piece of hardware, but if you get a few months out of it, there is no rough justice done as you have had your moneys worth....Basically mate, if you can be arsed to learn a bit ( and there is plenty of time before the next footy season to learn all about to properly use a dreambox ) a dreambox is the way to go in this hobby

We have gone through all of this before, There are many thousands of threads on this Fourm asking thousands of questions all you have to do is use the search function .

Here are two well established threads on the topic.....

Due to the bad nature of these Threads and some members it would be better to use the previous posts to answer your question, before sturring this all up again.

Personally If you want what is described as a Luxury good buy yourself a real Dreambox, yes they are expencive but its worth it.

If you want a cheap yet functional option buy a clone Dreambox.

As for the spiderbox I am not going to make a comment on it, its just not worth it............
