Hi, many thanks for the review. A real noobie question, would be grateful if anyone could set me straight: I have a 4 LNB set-up, two cables; both tuners A and B have been scanned, all OK so far. I just can't figure out how to select a particular tuner when selecting channels: I tried an Azbox before and its (non-Engima) interface I found more intuitive (there's a "tuner" button for selecting which tuner is "active"). In other words, if I have, say, Film4 on tuner A showing, how do I get Film4 from tuner B on the screen? Any help gratefully received (apologies if this Q is in wrong place...)

Thanks a lot for a fantastic review.
I've had a DM7020 for a few years but I want something new now
The ET9000 is very tempting although the price is still a bit high....
        Thanks.

Was going to purchase the clone DM8000 but waiting on some reviews first, I'll have a good look at this receiver first before making my choice

                  Hello,

I have followed all the steps in the review from sat-shop but still cannot get it to work. I'm using OpenPLI + cccam 2.2.1

When I look at cccam-info, all servers are Red although the box is correctly networked and cccam correctly configured.

When I plug back my DM7020 with same cccam, all works fine....
                  Any hints please?

Disconnecting the DM7020 solved the problem :-)

                        Clarke tech

Is it possible to use the Clark tech for sharing?

Just a small update on this one for all, the ET9000 is now no longer produced under the Clarke-Tech brand name, all new versions of this receiver will be produced under the Xtrend brand name, so it now becomes the Xtrend ET9000.

You can have a look at this on our site HERE but I can assure you everything else with this receiver stays EXACTLY the same, literally only the brand name on the front will change and the outer packing that they ship with, everything else, support, images, software etc. stays the same.

Regarding the couple of questions above then it's correct there is no fan inside these machines, they do have a large heat sink of course and over heating should never be a problem at all, just allow decent air flow around the receiver just like we'd advise for any receiver and they are fine, I have ran the original version since Christmas time last year and never ever had any kind of heat problem.

Regarding the other question they they will support popular softcam including CCcam which is usually the most popular, they are Enigma2 based receivers on a Broadcom chipset so they can more or less support all the same plugins as Dreambox and VU+ BUT with the latest Xtrend ET9000 drivers (and it's single tuner offering the ET5000) they also support blind scan which for an Enigma2 based receiver I think is a first! At ?239 for the ET5000 and ?339 for the ET9000 with the features these have then they do make a great deal, there is no doubt the spec. alone of the ET9000 makes it superior to the VU+ DUO and we are noticing customers starting to shift over but as I said from the start if anyone ever wants to come as see one or now both of the Xtrend products then you're more than welcome to come over to us and have a look at one

Actually no, as you'll see I originally posted the review which was highjacked a little by moderators and dare I say testers of a specific image from another forum, the same one you've just thanked above which I would say is the only blatant attempt at advertising going on on this thread, this was several months ago now though and to be honest is no big deal...

But before accusing someone please read my posts on here (not just this thread but many more), read there content then tell me if you think I have attempted to just advertise or rather answer questions asked and with new information that's specific to the product we are talking about here, I also felt the new single tuner model was worth a mention as well but I would agree that's not directly related to the original review, it's just that was several months ago and times have moved on as has this thread.

EDIT Just to add on the the thread I'd posted above with the link to the ET9000 on reflection I guess it could appear to be just to advertise, this is because vBulletin pulls the titles of pages from external links, I've now edited that just to say HERE so there is no confussion, thanks.

What makes DK the site it has become is ,as I've said before, the effort put in by the many great contributers who give their time and experience to,and for the benefit of,people who come here seeking help. This is right across all the forums here and not just confined to satellite problems.
Looking at some of the above responses we see that, in this particular case, the price of this relatively new box is a problem.
Sat Shop, to which I have absolutely no connection, have kindly tested the product and offer their honest opinion on the workings of it for the benefit of all. It could be a very costly mistake to purchase this without any knowledge of its capabilities and here we have, for free, the information we need. Not forgetting that Sat Shop were supporters of DK which,in itself, also helped DK to where it is today.
At the end of the day business is business but I recall on several occasions when Sat Shop replied to other unrelated queries.
