    New Motor not moving

    Hello all

I have just purchased a new motorised system, which includes, twin lnb, darkmotor, 1m dish etc, Now I have a old sagem dbox2 satellite, which I have now blown with the lates Enigma PBL image, attached it to the motor and it works fine, manual or through the reciever, the minute I attach the LNB it stops working manualy or from the box, I have tried another pre-made cable but I still get the same result any ideas?

Hi it is a SMART platinum 0.1Bd twin port

it is strange, I am now starting to think it is either a duff lnb or the box is lacking in power,

the motorised setup is brand spanking and is only 1 week old.

Thedbox2, the amount of volts it gives out, should it be ample enought to power up the motor and the LNB, it is working the motor correctly without the lnb attached, i can position the dish from the box and also I can manulay move the motor with it's own adjustment buttons, but the minute I attach the LNB to it, it stops?

Yes I have tried both out put ports on the single LNB and I still get the same thing. dish stops responding. weird

oh and you have a wire from the lnb to the motor then from the motor to the dish right?

                          Thank you chaps

just to recap, I have the setup in a workshop at the moment just to test all of the hardware, I am going to get 2 new cables made tonight to test out the connections and make sure they are good, I have also ordered a dm800 clone to replace the old DBox2 i was going to just use the dbox to check all the hardware before we got on the roof and alighned it all up but now it is a process of elimination, I shall definatly check the voltage from the box and remake of all of the connection,

yes the cables do go from the reciever to the motor then motor to LNB, I reflashed the dbox2 with a new pbl enigma image to clear any old setting and get it up to date, but i will also have a play with the settings.

I will let you know how I get on

Right I have had the sparks come round and make 2 new 2m leads and they have been tested with a FLUKE meter and had 1000volts sent through them and they are working perfect, the satelite reciever is chucking out 18.6 volts on high and 14.6 on low this has been tested from the back of the box and on a long cable run and there is no volt drop, I have gone and purchased another lnb and still i get the same problem, the minute the lnb is attached to the LNB side of the motor it stops working.

this is costing me a small fortune, in my opinion it must be the motor, time to box the lot up and send it back
