PcEditor V1.2.46beta12, Help please

Please help regards updating channel list using PcEditor V1.2.46beta12 by jondoe
I CANNOT UPDATE CHANNELS
I can download via ftp but cannot update via usb or ftp
Im not sure if its my pc that?s at fault or me !.
I Cannot send any channels back to ipbox
Here?s whats happening:
Pc usb connected to ipbox via USB to B (printer cable)cable
Pc to Netgear Router wireless
Netgear Router to ipbox via Ethernet cable
PcEditor/options/settings/receiver = ipbox ip-ad 192.168.0.4
Ftp u/n root / ftp p/w relook web u/n relook web p/w relook
USB database download-local directory 192.168.0.4 ?start = usb is not connected try again
Please note I have previously installed and updated image using flashtools vers 102 and yes installed USB driver
Ftp database download ?ipbox?-local directory -192.168.0.4-start = DOWNLOADS CHANNEL?S
Using FTP is ok to download Channels from ipbox !
Then I save file as db5 on desktop

Now when trying to upload via either USB or FTP I am getting the
ERROR
Ftp database upload (ipbox9000)
Upload from file
Locate and select db5 on desktop
Start = if you upload this db file, existing db will be deleted do you want to continue ?-YES
Upload progress stays empty and then after 2 minutes says error
Saying error saving database - ok
Then again error saving database ? ok
I have tried turning off and back on ipbox as if booting and still the same errors
The usb is not recognised at all and the ftp only downloads and not uploads

I should be able to send new db5 file to ipbox via pceditor YES ?
If not
Using such as flash fxp where would I drop db5 file ? and into which folder on ipbox ?

If you want to use flashfxp, ftp the db.dat to your box in /var
and name file: db.dat.edited

and reboot for changes to take effect

thanks yes i will do that.
i just had a look in var folder,via core ftp
there is already several files in the var folder eg hotbird eutelsat intelsat etc .
do i delete all these files first.
I have never installed channel list , i have got channels and sats by searching on ipbox menu service searching etc.
I have dowloaded channels via pceditor , edited channels eg itv hd for sound and saved file on desktop db.dat.edited
do i now drop /drag this db.dat.edited to var folder will it remove previous files automatically.

Hiya

As a suggestion have you checked all the connections on the cuberevo/ipbox as sometimes my cat 5 cable becomes loose at the back & has to be pushed in firmly

Also try using DCC v2.95 (the Dreambox FTP file) to connect to your box as it will show up if its not connecting, or passwords wrong etc

on pceditor the software can be a bit tempermental (i know its only beta) & when i select FTP upload database cuberevo, tick upload database from file, file & select which one (again ive always used a complete file (@otheitis42E-30W) ive edited not a dat.bak one) open & start

Then message of rewriting etc & rebooting box for new settings to load etc -takes approx 10 secs

Dont forget factory reset will wipe all your old channel settings otherwise your box may run slow!

thanks cat5 is ok ftp is ok,
i was originally trying to upload via pceditor , but no longer .
now i am uploading using core ftp this is working.
i now need to know
which files in var folder to delete before sending new db.dat.edited to var folder

ERR 79
Oops, I deleted some sat files in var folder via Core Ftp, now I got the ERR 79 message on boot up.
Does this mean I now have to re-flash with latest image eg nlb 8421.

yep, reflash your box,, as youve deleted files your box is needing to work, only takes about 15 mins anyway, and if you backed up you files, keys, scce, database you will be fine.

best to start again m8.

Lesson learned, always back image up before tinkering.

hi catseye, ive never managed to get a picture on ITV HD at all yet, i know some peeps in certain areas do get a picture at certain times.

ps i forgot to say ITV HD test card was on last week & watchin Champions League footie -This week according to Tv times theres no HD content on this station

I wondered whether ITV HD are tinkering at the technical end so as to allow those with a Sly HD box to watch as & when?

Although King of sat still shows same frequency etc

i had test card on yesterday but no sound , untill i cocked up but according to freesat theres nowt on now untill 20th dec

cheers, i will try later cos u do have different settings eg p/w & u/n although mine must be connected to enable downloads from box.
I dare not even think about enigma looks far too difficult 4 me.
i presently have nlb8421v1.110, which im about to re-install but i see abcom just updated to R8630 could i put this straight on, would i benefit out ?
i want to veiw english films on as many sats as pos 30w to 42east
