hi mate , i looked on underside of psu , and pins with no power (green lines above) are not soldered underneath , this leads me to believe to they are not required and dont need power , all other 6 pins (red above in photo) are soldered and live , so i assume the part is in working order
btw , thanks wortho but i tried every combo of f/w loaders inc the digiworld one you refering too , thanks anyhow

just a thought m8, when you start the procedure with box switched off at the back select firmware and include bootloader when you click on next switch on the box at the back, ive heard various timings may help when switching on and also when you switch on give it a while to work. hope this helps m8Comment

Southpaw I worked a whole week getting my s10 to load with same error you have. A couple of things I found may help you. Microsoft dropped support of comm port direct null modem connections on Windows 7 and Vista. I quit my Vista machine and used an old Windows 98 machine comm port, windows XP will also work. Set up comm baud rate, parity, bits, flow control, and stop to match the exe prog. I used a 3 wire null modem cable 2&3 switched and 5 as common. When you unzip your loader program execute the exe file in the same folder as the other files that came with it. I was trying to execute it from my desktop which would not work. Try these it worked for me after working 120 hours on it. I may need a new on off switch but persistence pays off.

Also I found you can use Windows Vista if you get a Vista usb to serial special cable, and setup a virtual comm port that way. I dont know if it will work but finding a old Windows 98 machine was easier for me. I believe most boxes can be reflashed if one has all the information. Good LuckComment

Hi guys
My s10 went down three weeks ago. No display. The power was OK but screen flickering. This happened after power cable was accidentally unplugged. But yesterday i decided to power it and viola it came back to life but stack on the blue screen. I restarted it again and this time it was fully alive again. But since i did not trust its firmware, I decided to flash it but i think i did it wrong because it went from stuck to "ON" and now its back to where it was three weeks ago. "NO DISPLAY and no sign of LIFE". I made a full handshake null modem cable and tried the flashing procedure and different timing but the "SET STB MEMORY ERROR" keeps coming. I later opened the box and realised you actually don't need any hand shaking at all a THREE wire null modem is sufficient.
As at this moment i am still trying to revive the s10 clone from china or my be just leave it for another three weeks and hope it comes back to life again. Option two JTAG which seems a little more cumbersome.Comment
