    openbox s9

    Hi
Hope someone can help before i throw this box in the trash, i imported this box direct from china so sending it back is not an option, the other night it was working perfectly then it started to reboot and the display "oN " then Boot and finaly oN, I switched it off untill the following day and it rebooted and was ok for 5 mins and then displayed oN al the time, i have tried to reflash using a null modem cable and both openbox s9 old loader and openbox s9 upgrade tool and all's i get is please reset target (old loader) and (target not connected or target is error status!), have treid switching it on as i press the connect button and pressing the connect button before i switch it on, anyone PLEASE HELP

mow getting message Set stb memory error
You need to use a serial\null modem cable to update the firmware\bootloader as this can not be done via usb and channel freezing is not the problem, thanks anyway handyguy

              hi

You say your box was working and now its not!.
did you unplug your sat cable to see if it was one of the channels that is resetting the box, as some peeps are still having trouble with channels resetting there box,,

And I did not know you could use a serial cable to update these boxes, much easyer to use a USB stick ,,

PC connection is used to try and revive a dead box with one of the bootloader softwares out there. USB's not going to help for that kind of stuff unfortunately

Make sure it is a NULL MODEM CABLE and not an ordinary serial cable.

you always hit the connect button, then turn the receiver on with the switch in the back. You do this even with a good working receiver to connect.
