Openbox S10 Front of Box saying ON ??

i had same problem, only way i got it to work was to use a desktop pc with a dedicated serial port. No usb messing.

When I've done it the fail took about what seemed like 20 seconds to appear.

When you click next try different delays before powering the box. ie. 1, 2 or 3 second..

tried it. i get the fail right away, no wait at all. gonna contact supplier aint happy at all they said its genuine, see what they suggest.

Ali express have a dispute system like ebay. Contact the seller first and explain the items have been checked and confirmed they are not original but cheap copies/fakes.

One other thing first:

Did you have to sign for them on receipt?

yes DHL, you sure they clones if power cable is plug in one ? will be interesting when i get reply from supplier

got it working i downloaded this from another site Openbox S9-S10 fix. had same loader you gave but this worked some reason ?

I've had four originals from different places, two from Ireland all original and taking latest firmware. (All fixed cables).

Al that have had figure of 8 plugs have been clones and give the clone page when updated with latest firmware.

Luckily, I've kept the firmware that came with the boxes and put it back on to return them.

One of the sellers admitted they were copies, the items were removed from sale.

Personally I prefer the s9

Hi, i found this its got same loader you gave, but some reason it worked first time everytime ? so just update dump file to usb from working box , and load it to this ? seems newer at least to one i just recovered box with

I have used a laptop with usb to serial for six years without any problems.

Dbox?????????? The best way to flash the dbox was to have it switched on hit the start on the loader then quickly switch off and back on for a 99% success.

this is the one that has fixed mine then loaded firmware from 8/8/2011 .........but ive already been and bought an original box so now have 2.Any one want to buy a clone


edit.used a usb to serial on my laptop and just kept trying.

I have same problem with my s10. on light with sdram is failed when i try to serial load. will see if this will work. fingers are crossed.

Hi, recieved a openbox s10 today, decided to update firmware installed the ONPENBOX_S10_02_09_11.RAR on here, i did check my box chip is before flashing to make sure its genuine it is a 085b which is on the list, flashed fine ws working, was messing with menus it froze so pulled power out, on reboot it said clone and on screen it said your box is a clone,

now its stuck just saying on on front display ?

any ideas how to get it up again ? why this open if its genuine Chip ID

I have similar problem, just got this s10 from ebay seller from china then upgrade the firmware to the latest dated 14 sept and problem stated

Loaded OPENBOX_S10_110914 from SHENZHEN WANYING ELETRONICS page after upgrade display was saying CLONE, after power off just ON.

Here's how to bring your clone back to life:
* Load "HDS2_CMT_Eng.abs" from Megaupload: ?d=L2RBA9C3
* Load "HDS2_SCMT_20110315.abs" from Megaupload: ?d=IFBBXL0Z

1) Load EromUpgrade and run it. Select "Upgrade" and check the "bootloader".
Select the image "HDS2_CMT_Eng.abs" and give "Next".
Once you finish the upgrade will show us these symbols " - - ". Turn off satbox.

2) Run EromUpgrade again. Select "Upgrade" and check the "bootloader".
Select the image "HDS2_SCMT_20110315.abs" and give "Next".
Box wii say "boot" and " - - ". Turn off satbox.

3)Again run EromUpgrade. Select "Upgrade" and check the "bootloader".
Select the original image "HDS2_DUMP.abs" and give "Next".

Enjoy the resurrection. Keep original dump safe.
