Openbox S10 Front of Box saying ON ??

Having the same problem, stuck with "on", i tried the "Openbox S9-S10 fix", the flashing works as suppose, downloads the file to the box and burns, but the "on" is stuck on all the way and when the flashing is finished i restart the box but only to see the "on" again :S, any advice??

Clone boxes show genuine chip numbers until they're flashed then they show FFFF as the number if your lucky to get through the boot process.

They can be recovered with older firmware and a flashing programme.

Has you box got a fixed or figure of 8 plug type power cable?

is it full proof that if it has figure 8 it is a clone and if fixed then original. where and how i download channel list for usa

I have installed two firmware upgrades and I've got no problem. Yesterday the box blocked and now shows only on. I'll try to use your tools. Thanks

The only method that worked for me was to use a desktop pc with a dedicated serial port, no USB adaptor messing.

S10 problems

If you find that your box wont load via USB check your RJ45 (eternet) there are two led lights above the socket if these are not showing its more than likely you will have to reload via nul modem RS232 its as though when the software "bricks" this is where it freezes in the software. If you have tried re-introducing the software and it wont load I have found out on many occassions that the fault is the RJ45 PCB

Re-no display on openbox S10 If all of the display is not working its more than likely not to be the software, its more likely to be either the display pcb or the part of the power supply the display is connected to the mother board via a plug and socket this can be unplugged you can check by removing the cover and locating the multiwire lead coming from the display pcb. if you have a powersupply issue you wont be able to take it much further unless you are technically apt..

One further point makes sure the plug is well into the socket in the back if you have this type of mains connection

WARNING!!!!!! DISCONNECT THE BOX FROM MAINS ELECTRIC BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIR....WARNING!!!!!!

My s9 is 100% not a clone but ive got the dready ''ON'' i do manage to get it to boot up but only after a few attempts of turning it on and off any idea what this could be ??

All working again i manage to get the box to reboot so whilst it was on i flashed it and it works like a dream now

You will have to keep trying it until it connects, or use a pc with a dedicated serial port. That is the only way I got mine to work

When I killed my s10 I downloaded various kits to fix it and some gave me that error.Seems the kits were missing ini files or had the wrong ini files for my receiver.The loader should include the eromclient.abs which has to match the amount of ram in the receiver,ditto for the sdram.ini.You must start the loader first,then turn the receiver on with the switch in the back.Reanimator openbox has the files built-into the loader itself, if you can find that one.
