Recover openbox with "on" frozen on display.

Please please please guys try different serial ports don't assume because a serial port on your laptop works with something else that it will work to recover your box. try a different serial port on a desktop pc or a friends pc for example. I tried about 30 times with my laptop suing an expansion card which always works with dreambox but would not complete the handshake with my openbox. used my desktop and voila 2nd attempt.

why s10 dont hv like other gadgets, if anything wrong just press the factory default hole and it will reset

Some secret I can tell you , some people clone the chip id as the same as original , If you are not sure, Please do not buy the box . Because all the original manufacture stop producing the S box since march 2012 , the developers stop maintain the code . So many clone box on the market . But I am sure the SKybox F3 is original . You can buy the box instead of S9,s10,s12. For the s10 clone box user, Please recovery the old firmware.

Well my openbox is still dead...
I dit everything to upgrade. flash it with erom repair.
But nothing changed. :-(. And i don'have a clone.
When i switch the power on it says On and after 1 , 2 seconds i see
two green dashes.

you have to run clone safe firmware.
I just killed mine with the latest s12 firmware.
Clone safe is the only firmware that will boot without the --
I didn't have a clone either.

But when i upload a new firmware with usb.. The same two

So i'm back at the begin.

usb,impossible since the receiver isn't running.
I had to load via rs232 loader.

Found an excellent fix. The null modem cable needs to be set up properly.
2 to 3
3 to 2
4 to 6 and 1
5 to 5
6 and 1 to 4
7 to 8
8 to 7

This should fix the issue, it did for me
