openbox s11 no signal?? some channels

hi i got a openbox s11 from ebay the other day and iv downloaded a sly uk channels list form dk and done a channels sat scan , for some reson im getting - no signal- on most channels?? the fta channels arent as bad , iv heard there is a batch of s11s with faulty tuners around so hopefully im just doing something wrong but what can it be cheers pals

also im sharing the openbox on a quad lnb with a dreambox dm 500s ill try disconnecting the dreambox also its just a standard sly dish
still the exact same!

problem fixed- unplugged the dreambox downstairs so the openbox has the lnb to its self , done a blind scan , fixed yes eventualy !!

Hi bud,

Having the same issue on my s10, sure it is the capitators on the box as gradually you will lose all channels. Best to try and push for a new box from your supplier.

yes i got mine from ebay from a link from dk, to be honest i dont think i like it anyway it a no frills hd box thats it, sending it back to supplier for refund! dreambox for me

I am also planning to get a Dreambox think it will be and Dreambox 800HD SE for me.

openbox s11 are crap, alot of people are fobbing peopleoff with these because they are cheaper. I can CONFIRM openbox s11 have problems and openbox s10 WORKS GREAT!!

if you can ONLY purchase openbox s10 and dreambox dm800HD

BEWARE of openbox s11 (not near as good as openbox s10)

I have 7 x openbox s11 and some channels dont work no matter what i do (except diode fix). I have 5 x openbox s10 which work perfect on all channels.

PS; The DIODE fix does work with the s11, BUT the openbox s10 works fine without any stupid fixes or changing of lnb etc

The clown who suppied the s11's suggest changing lnb but thats abit difficult to explain to 7 customers.

s10 is safe bet! for cheap receiver and dm800 briallant for most purpose

total rubbish! theres no difference in parts, apart from the extra scart on the s11

sometimes one thinks before blinking or times he just types uncontrollable and on and on and on

yawn, its seems the joker above may have an answer for the faulty s11 tuner/batch which he seems to think is the same as perfectly running s10,

maybe he can help with the original OPs problem?

hehe! I have 2 open box s11 did the menu 8888 to see if the chip id ..there not clones and when scaned all the sat channels work ok!

In regards to the scanning always give your box the full LNB to scan and dont use any splitters as this will greatly decrease your chance of finding all transponders!

I have fitted quite a few of these and the problem seems to be both Hardware and Software, if the LNB signal is below 50% on the V polarisation you get NO signal on some $ky channels, the tuner seem to fluctuate in voltage empowering LNB and cutting signal, to counteract this an inline 13 18 db sloped amplifier from auction sites, around ?4, this is the easiest fix and all channels should clear.
