    DIODE FIX

    Hi guys

Anyone know if this fix still works?

And....do you cut the middle cable, and solder the diode IN BETWEEN the cut in the middle cable?.....or do you just solder it TO the middle cable and seal it up?

    Thanks in advance guys

      Hello mate
Yes they still work but there is no need to go to any hassle of cutting and soldering etc, just get 1 from eBay, there only ? few Quid, just search skybox no signal fix and you will find them :-)

Save a few quid if you have soldering experience as the diode is only pence

You have to cut the inner cable & solder the diode across the gap. Wrap some insulating tape around it (or heatshrink if you have some) to prevent the outer strands from shorting to it. Make sure the outer strands are reconnected together again.

          Edit...clearer diagram.

I tried the diode fix but it didnt work

            the channels i'm missing are:

            Setanta
            ESPN
            Box Nation
            Primetime

And a few other tv channels.....90% are ok tho.

Anyone missing the channels too or anyone know of a fix for this?

            Thanks In Advance

The diode fix is for channels using vertical polarisation that show "no signal" when another box is connected to the same LNB.

Your problem may be due to an out of date channel list.

Have you installed one of the latest channel lists available on Digital Kaos?

I prefer the channel order of AJ's list, but if you are used to the channel order of a $ly+ box, then you may prefer sattv5's list. There is also a list by inbed79.

Installing a channel list shouldn't affect anything else on your box. I have installed channel lists many times on many different boxes without problems, but you should always have a copy of your gift details on a memory stick & your pc (just in case your box ever crashes).

If your gift details are not already backed up somewhere, then you can dump them to a USB memory stick. It may be worth dumping the whole image as well.

                          ...also 1N4001, 1N4002, 1N4003 etc. will work.

Any rectifier diode should be OK.
