S10 Lockup/Freeze ??

    S10 Lockup/Freeze ??

    Over the last week or my S10 has been freezeing/locking up for no apparent reason..

    I was watching the Liverpool game today on ITV which is FTV and it just lockup with a picture on the screen, remote dead and box buttons frozen so had to reboot with switch at the back. I wouldn't say it does in constantly but its been fine for 4 months.. any ideas ??

      overheating maybe?
      newer firmware runs hotter.

          Although the box does not appear to get hot it is definately down to heat.

          I had to move mine into the open air but it still happens after a while.

          Might be worth fitting a fan to it.

          The other option is to revert to the old firmware but that doesn't seem to have any way of playing back rmovies, recorded or otherwise.

          It's not a bad little box but it is a cheapy and as such you get what you pay for.

          Can't wait to be able to afford something that actually works & is fully configurable.

              Most likely the networking causing the freeze. I have found with my box that it reboots every now & then (happens everytime when using cccam). if i unplug the network cable & stick to freeview only then the problem disappears completely. I don't think theres much depth in "new FW running hotter". I have no evidence of that.

                  Cracked it, it was due to having a sly card in the box, I was trying to use it for UK FTV channels, as my CS don't have them. Now the card is removed no issues at all...

                      capacitors in the tuner 16V 100mkf change 100mkf 25V capacitors from the picture and enjoy the normal operation of the receiver (I'm stuck 100mkf 35V all ok).
