You will get a fully working freeview box you will need to use Google to help you with the premium channels but nothing is free, Andy.

Hi SATV5, Firstly many thanks for your hard work. We would be lost without you and AJ. I have used your re-modified list as a base then just changed a few channels to match my locals. How do you make the default and user database the same? Does it really matter? Thanks.

Use any channel editor you want to adjust the list to your locals. After your done open the channel in PVR800editor
and it will give you the option to select Database, (choose User Data Base). When the channel list has opened click
file in the top left corner of the screen and select save. When the option to Select database appears again Choose
Default database. Thats all there is to it you can now close the program (both databases are now the same)

The reason for setting them the same is that the channel lists (databases) is split into 2 lists really the user
one which is the one which we can see and use when ever we change channels & the Default one which is never
actually seen on the skybox but is copied to the user database when the channel list is factory reset
The default database has been known to copy itself to the user database on boot if the user database is corrupted
somehow.
If you open some of the recent channel lists and look at the default database in them you will find channels that
have been deleted and frequencies that are oudated but updated in the user database

If you want an example of what I mean: (If you did this, this is what would happen)

1 On the remote select Menu
2 Select Factory Settings
3 A screen will appear that says This operation will load default and erase all the channels that user added
continue
4 Select Yes
5 A new screen will appear that says Erase Select with the following options

0)CCam.cfg
1)CCam.Prio
2)Ignore.list
3)Replace.List
4)Newcamd.ist

6 DO NOT SELECT ANY OPTIONS just press the blue button on the remote
7 The screen will say saving Data Please Wait
8 The screen will flash black and you will be back at the menu
9 Exit the menu and check your channel list

What you are going to find has happened is that all the local channels that you added have now dissapeared and the
list looks exactly the same as the one that I uploaded, because I saved the channel list to both the default and
user database. By reseting to factory the default database has copied itself to the user database.

Note: restoring the Channel list to factory takes on all the settings in the default database including the names
of the favourites so that you don't have to rename them manually one by one if they are wrongly labelled.

Cheers for that SATTV5. All understood. I followed your tutorial from the red stickies (very easy to follow by the way) and taught myself how to change yours and aj's lists to suit my local preferences. Ill now save both databases to be the same. Clever little boxes these for the price.

Box with Channel list = freeview
Box with Channel list & apartwecannottalkabout = what you want full package

Google with be you mate on the 3rd item....NO talk about it on DK

Don't know if anyone has had problems before but ive updated an f3 and f5 box and the fav's don't have the correct channels in there. for example the movies are under the Asian and news under the movies. is there anyway to rectify this? ive tried deleting the channels and reading but nothing has changed. thanks

Yes just go to menu and click on favorite channels .Rename the favorites as per AJ channels( ie sport will become movies etc). If you rename them as per AJ favorites, if you were to update them again, using AJ Chanel updates, hopefully they will not change again
