    OpenBox X3 - HDD

    What is the best external HDD for this box for recording. I have an external HDD enclosure but this box doesnt seem to pick up the HDD when connected.

    any advice would be great

      In theory, any should work.

      Are you sure the USB port is working, does it see a memory stick ok? Does your hard disk have just one partition which is either fat32 or ntfs? If its a USB powered portable drive then it might not be getting enough power.

          yes it is USB powered, my laptop picks it up fine and the USB stick is picked up fine by the box aswell... what i have is a Laptop HDD put inside a enclosure. :S

              If you have one, try a shorter USB lead, a shorter lead will allow a bit more power to the drive... Alternatively a powered USB hub might help...
