You cant have more than 999 transponders in your list otherwise it throws a wobbly. I guess your using your skybox as a multi sat box as I'm sure there's less than 100 transponders on 28.2. If your not creating a multi satellite then the only other thing of that I can think would cause it is if you have copied the list that comes on the original skybox firmware as somehow they managed to get more than a 1000 transponders on that
How to import/export Openbox/Skybox channel list in MediaBox Editor Studio

No I don't have 28.2, I'm using 13E, 4W and 7E on single 1M dish. The original firmware came with no channels, they appeared of course only after the satellites search. So the only solution is to manually delete a whole lot of channels that I don't use?
That won't be ideal cause it mean every time I do a new scan I'll need to do it over and over again. With those 3 sats I get over 2000 chans on the skybox. Same as it was previously in my dreambox. It doesn't seems to have any issue on the f5s itself other then those utilities.. And no I don't have any duplicates.Comment

I think you are missing the point. I know that there was no channels on the list before you scanned for them but there are over a 1000 transponders on the default list when the skybox is loaded from new. Even with 13E,4W & 7E there are still nowhere near 1000 transponders. If you upload your chanel list in this thread I will fix it for you so the problem wont occur again and you will be able to edit and save using any channel editor.Comment

To highlight transponders (TPs) that haven't got any channels on them then within MediaBox, click on 'Show' and select 'Transponders'. This will display all your transponders and normally if any TPs are red in the square at the beginning of each TP then there are no channels within this TP. If you want to be sure you can check on this by double-clicking on the TPs where the numbers are red at the beginning of each transponder.
Alternatively, within the list of Transponders just choose 'Modify', then 'Select' and click on 'Select Transponders WITHOUT channels'.
You can then delete them.
If you don't feel comfortable doing that then upload list to this thread as suggested by sattv5 and either sattv5 or myself will remove TPs without channels.Comment

Thank you both, I really rathered doing it myself so I'll know how to do it everytime I update my transporders. I deleted the ones without channels and it dropped to 165 transporders! :-) Now the only issue is that I noticed the order of the channels in the favorites isn't kept. I saw you edited the first post and wrote that the solution is to reorder the channels first but I don't understand how its affecting the order of the channels in the favorites. To highlight transponders (TPs) that haven't got any channels on them then within MediaBox, click on 'Show' and select 'Transponders'. If I import, re-order the channels in the favorites, export to ABS and then import back to MediaBox - no ordering is kept.Last edited by Dreamie; 15 December, 2013, 12:44.Comment

You have to order favourites within Channels options from 'Show' menu (which displays all channels) and NOT from the favourites. Any changes you make in Channels option do not show in favourites unless you export and import again.... Now the only issue is that I noticed the order of the channels in the favorites isn't kept. Now that you have deleted unused transponders you may have confused it so you may have to reorder them again.Comment

Thanks this works! Not the most elegant way to edit the order of the channels but it works. Kinda hard to do so with so many channels on a single list. You have to order favourites within Channels options from 'Show' menu (which displays all channels) and NOT from the favourites. I managed to sort favorites with setEdit too while sorting in the actual favorites list, but it has an odd downside too - If I add a channel to a certain favorite, after the skybox updates the list all the channels are not working anymore and it says "invalid program search again". If I just sort the channels in the favorite and don't add any new channels to them - everything works.
To edit with Setedit I also have to convert the ABS to UDF with AliEditor, edit the UDF with SetEdit and then convert the UDF back to ABS with AliEditor. Somehow SetEdit can't open the ABS file and reports an error.
Guess that the ideal way in the end is to use MediaBox, AliEditor and Setedit together.. :PComment
