Yes I'm using the virgin media super hub, could that be the issue?

Sounds like the cline that you were given as part of your gift is crap. maybe when its bad try and get a 24hr test cline of one of the sites and see if it freezes.
I always have a freezes with any cline provider im on17mb broadband, but i think the issue is my adsl router Netgear DGn1000 which is the cause (mtu settings)

i am reading numerous posts and thinking the same thought,
i think you have your sat box plugged into the vm hub?
kryptview also have issues more with the hd box and have advised to try using a router to see if it improves.
            sat box-------router--------superhub.
all units may need powering off for 20 secs then on.

Thanks but I'm not using wireless. My setup is like this:

Virgin media router > Zyxcel Poweline adapter > goes through my electric mains circuit > another Poweline adapter in the living room > skybox

I might get a really long ethernet cable and connect it straight to my super hub, but I don't want this to be a permanent setup.... Can't have an ethernet cable running through the house.

Managed to get the password and upgraded the firmware to 'SKYBOX_F5_F3_M3_3601HD_CMT_1301230F1C' but I'm still getting stuttering.

My friend has an older firmware and his Skybox is working flawlessly. Could this be an issue with my Internet connection?

No I can't since the virgin cable comes in to the 'computer room' upstairs. Im doing a satellite search now, see if I can find a better one.

                        EDIT: still stuttering

Which firmware did you use? and which channel list?
