Not just a case of that mate, many ISP throttle their connections ( including Virmin these days) and in particular after 6pm.

The data stream to and from a server is very small and some people use a 3G dongle to connect their stb to the internet without having any problems with freezing/glitching try a ping test at peak time anything under 80 should be fine.

OP is using wifi to connect on his box, the wifi facility on these boxes are notorious for dropping connections. I would try hard wired or home plugs myself which is easier said than done when running off a mifi dongle.

Mate he is using a mifi dongle, I suppose my posts re Virmin were a little off topic, I was just making members aware of the throttling going off currently with Virmin.

Did a little research mifi is by 3 and they do seem to throttle at peak time 6pm to 12am and ping can go as high as 300ms which is bad will lead to freezes and glitches. Could be time to change provider if not in a contract.

In comparison, my F3 (wired to router, BT) has the same issue from early morning to early afternoon. then perfect at the busiest times.
