    Channel List

    Hi everyone,

I have tried uploading AJ's channel list as well as two others onto my box, however each time I do most of the channels, including some fta's come up with no signal. I have tried numerous things yet to no avail, yet when upload the original channel list all channels are ok (however no disney or cbeebies but thats another issue). Does anybody know if the original provider can make it so only the channel list they provided is able to be used with their gift, or it something I'm doing wrong (Although when I put the original back on its fine so process should be the same i presume).

Any help would be great, thanks.

no signal is a satdish/cable/cable ends/satbox/lnb issue nothing to do with gift/internet side (that would be scrambled) the gift can work with any list but only the channels they provide you with will unscramble

Ask your provider for an updated channel list and they should have one suited for you

Thank you for the replies, I've emailed them but just waiting for the reply, just wondered why one list works and one doesn't, didn't think what list you used was a problem

If you install a list for 28.2e, or S l y TV etc., then providing your dish is pointing in the right direction, you should get a signal.

Out of interest, did you look at the transponder frequencies of the channels that don't work to see what they were?

As long as you got a up to date channel list it should work with your box maybe worth doing a blind scan.

I dint look at frequencies sorry, and i completed a blind scan, it is the same thing, on the original list which was on box then the channels are fine, however when I use one of the lists from here the channels come up no signal, still waiting for reply from provider, its just annoying that the other lists aren't working for whatever reason

do you have more than 1 satbox running on the satdish? there is an issue of f5s loosing some channels(no signal) when more than 1 satbox is using the same dish.

When you do a blind scan does it still find all the channels but not display them? When you say that some of the FTA's come up with no signal, can you give a few examples? Are BBC1, ITV1 CH4 etc. viewable?

Are you deleting the previous channel list before scanning or updating with a new one?

I usually say to do a blind scan so that you can see what channels are being found if some channels that you expect are missing then might mean that dish might have moved slightly and may not be pulling in those channels therefore might have to realign the dish, with blind scan you should see all the channels but not laid out in nice orderly list.

Yep. Exactly. That's why I find it strange that JayA1985 did a blind scan & said that he still got the same thing. I assume he meant that it scanned in the channels, but still got "no signal" messages. Very odd.

Hi, yes i delete channels first when update, do blind scanalso, last time i tried updating I had bbc 1, 2 and channel 5 is but ITV and 5 not working. I've looked around the site and cant see anybody with a similar problem. With regard to the dish alignment would it not mean with the original channel list it would also say no signal, I'm watvhing the match now so gift, etc seem fine, its really puzzled me

In your "Antenna setup" page in the "installation" menu, is the LNB Freq set to Universal (9750-10600)? Are both DiSEqC options set to "disable"?

When you do a blind scan, do a lot of the transponders say fail.

It would be interesting if you could compare the frequency, polarisation, SID etc. of a working channel on your original list with the same channel on a non-working scan.

As you say, if it was due to dish not being aligned correctly, the same channels would give "no signal" on whichever channel list or scan you used.
