Skybox f3 power issue?

Hmm my skybox m3 has just died too. There is a faint burnt smell from it. I plugged in my adaptor for the wdtv live (also 12v) red led blinks a few times then goes out. Could the caps problem be the cause too ?

Did the smell come from the PSU or from the box itself?

Was the other PSU you tried rated at 1.5A or more?

The capacitor problem we are talking about here, is for models with built-in PSU's.

Checked the polarity before I plugged it in
However for some reason it's decided to fix itself over night working again today.

Smell was from the box itself...still stinks a bit today though :/

stop puttin wet socks on your box to dry then maybe overheated see how it goes when left on a while. keep 999 handy

Seems fine again, guess it was either the wet socks or it learned from the Mrs and decided to be an awkward bitch for a bit
