no such thing as 25 or 30 HZ setting ...tv's need 50 or 60 or higher to prevent eye strain from flickering as the human eye can detect motion at about 15-20 hz

My tv is just HD ready and theres no flickering....try some of the other settings such as 720p and see if it affects the issue you have.

If it is only some channels that are affected then it will not be your skybox, the problem you are describing can be caused by a cordless phone, if you have cordless phone try switching this off at the mains for testing purpose and see if it makes a difference.

The RGB & YUV respectively belong to Scart and S-Video connections in other words Analogue, RGB was used to seperate the 3 main colours from one device to the TV and YUV was Chroma seperation as well.

HDMI is a pure digital source and as such does not need any form of seperation technique to reproduce a solid clean picture.

So when selecting HDMI anything selected below 720p is being down converted, so you should really leave this at 1080i

Although your TV Plasma/LCD/LED maybe capable of 30hz i am afraid that the standard for satellite receivers is just either 50hz or 60hz which is 25/30 doubled the only other medium to accept a lower hz rating is Blu Ray where the defacto standard is 1920x1080 @ 24p some Blu rays i have encountered are or have been capable of 30hz but satellite does not need these differing standards

my tv 40c530 50hz lcd tv when i selected 60hz all channels logo's i mean all screen flickering but when i selected 50hz option only flickering under of screen i can see on news strip so i understand i must select a number less than 50hz.. i saw 30,25hz option on some hd receiver that means .. this option's not unnecessary right ..

The first option to try and eliminate the flickering is to turn off all picture processing that your TV has such as Film Mode, Noise reduction Filter etc.. this is so the picture you see through the HDMI for the receiver is as natural as possible and hen lets see if the flickering is still there. Also would be handy if you could upload a small clip of the flickering in action so that people can see what you mean
