IMAG0171.jpgThanks for info, chaps. I took lid off to see if I could do anything, though I've no idea why, given that I'm clueless!

The picture is a bit blurry around that area, but it looks like the 2 capacitors I mentioned are bulging.

Can you confirm that the tops of these capacitors are not flat, like the other capacitors?

Hi Hadron. Indeed I can confirm that they're not as flat as the others. The 'bulge' on the top of those two capacitors isn't noticeable really unless looking specifically, so I wouldn't have noticed had you not asked!

Maplin do the 105C types (although not low ESR). They will get the PSU going again, but obviously won't last as long as the better Panasonic brand. Then again, they might still outlast other components in the box. LOL.

The other problem with the Maplin ones, is that the 470uF capacitor is bigger than the original, as the lowest voltage 470uF they sell is a 25v type (2mm bigger diameter than the original 10v capacitor), so it might be too big for the, already, tight space.

                  The Maplin codes are:-

                  DT66W for the 470uF 25V capacitor @ 44p
                  DT69A for the 1000uF 16V capacitor @ 59p
