Thanks for your reply, that doesnt seem to be working on mine, the EPG is still the same, Ive only got a USB pen drive (128mb) which I used to transfer the files over plugged in at the minute, im guessing that isnt big enough for the EPG to work properly with?

Im going to buy a external hard drive tomorrow to keep plugged in at the back.

The epg file is about 120mb and as it stores all the files on the usb drive a 128mb will fail to complete the epg download/install.

How do I get it so that my EPG looks like yours?

I get viewing like that by just pressing EPG button on remote whilst viewing a channel.

Strange - I would have thought that your usb drive has enough storage for the EPG to work properly. Have you tried updating your EPG manually and are you sure you are pressing the OK button on your remote and NOT the EPG button? A final thing to check is to go into the micropanel settings, click the newly added GUI menu and make sure that the setting states WHOLE and not 3 because if it is set at 3 then this would give you the old style epg. Or of course, as pointed out, your drive may not be big enough.

I do like the epg and its an improvement on the basic now & next. Still the odd few channels that don't work with the xml epg.

What I would like to see is the SkyBox will default to now & next when an xml epg isn't available on a specific channel(s). That way, there is always some data albeit may only be now & next.

Yeah, definetely pressing the OK button, checked the GUI menu and it says whole. Not sure how to update my EPG manually? Will try again tomorrow with a bigger drive

Yea looks like it's due to the size of your drive. If you do want to check if your EPG is up to date go to your menu settings, locate and press epg and time settings, then arrow down to the bottom setting and press ok. The settings displayed should then tell you if you need an update as well as stating the date of your last downloaded epg. If you need an update press the red button and also you can set it for automatic updates by using the left/right arrow buttons on your remote.

Thats the way the old F5 works with most channels...set your epg to satellite and use the info button for now/next for the channel your on...using the epg option only really shows info for channels youve watched...but for the sake of a small ?5 pendrive the full epg is worth it

I've updated but not getting any picons, only XML tv in mine, also when I change channels in. Movies it says no information on the now and next window

Got this working today, it was because of the pen drive not being big enough this is great very happy.

happy to report i followed the instructions on this forum and installed files 1 and 2 and perfect, this is a massive step forwards for this box, much more user friendly.

Does it matter what size pen drive I have in the back for the EPG to contnue to update by itself day on day? I have a 15gb pen drive in, not going to be using it for recording or anything its just there for the EPG

I have been using the old guide since it came out, and it appears to just overwrite itself all the time so doesnt get any bigger, thats how it looked to me anyway so size doesnt appear to matter (for a change)

That is plenty big enough and will work fine.
