This is the first time I've tried firmware upgrade . When loading from USB do I keep DBS & setting ? And it says warning it will take it to factory setting . . Do I just let it load do and do I have to load ccam files from my back up files

I would ensure you backup your existing firmware, channel list, settings and other things you need first (if you haven't already) and do a factory reset and then upgrade firmware choosing no to keep dbs and settings when prompted.

I've downloaded a list of picons of the forum, have resize the ones I need to 132x99 at 256 in ms paint but when I try to change the bmp in picon editor it says bmp error, please check bmp palette, or something like that.

is 256 the number of colours or DPI. Having a look at the default ones, they're 132x99 with a resolution DPI of 72. I haven't fully looked into it though and just used the Win7 MS Paint app instead of a proper paint package with more options.

upgrade file is mismatch

i have a new f5s that i am not sure isnt a clone? my previous box was an f5 and the firmware upgraded fine.
i have tried various abs files.
any ideas welcome

Just tried the record from EPG option and I don't know if it worked.

It turned the channel over and at the end it turned box off (which I assume is normal) but can't see the recording in media player?

Am I missing something?

is 256 the number of colours or DPI. Having a look at the default ones, they're 132x99 with a resolution DPI of 72. I haven't fully looked into it though and just used the Win7 MS Paint app instead of a proper paint package with more options.

132x99 256 72 DPI just going by what it's say in the included PDF doc with picon editor

I don't think my box turned off when I did a short test recording a couple of days ago. While in Media Player using the left hand menu list, navigate to the bottom option and any recordings that have been successfully done should appear in the list on the far right hand side of the screen.

Me too with PSP7. I wonder if its a bug in the picon editor.

Nothing is listed when trying to record via EPG data. They do when recording manually, however.

Will there be another update soon as in no USB required in the slot at all times 24/7 ? Even if I did update can I download/update EPG then remove the USB and only one week EPG will still be there? One last thing can you press the EPG button to get the 7 days EPG? thanks I'm just curious and don't want to mess up the box

I doubt it as the boxes only have small amount of memory so to store whole EPG and/or PICON in it's memory (which would only be there until switched off anyhow) would mean it still requires usb to re-read the EPG/PICON data anyhow.

My guess is you are using the only usb as a wireless wifi?
