Mine does not seem to auto update on its own you have to go into the epg settings then back out and turn box off to standby to force the epg update, only have to do it once a week so it's not a major problem, hopefully it will get fixed with a future software update.Comment

It is not very clear how to do the update.
You need to go into EPG and Timer settings and with the EPG set to XML scroll down to XML and then press the red button.
This will not work unless you have USB memory attached (Stick or Drive)
It takes around 4 minutes to complete and sometimes the movie channels take an extra day to catch up.Comment

Well a week ago today (see post 185), I did a manual update of EPG (on Sat 11 but EPG dated Fri 10th) and haven't done any manual update myself since.
Just looked at my xmltv epg setting (within network app) and it now has a date of 13/01 but it does say 'need update' Well I don't remember updating it on 13th so I believe it may have actually updated itself just not as frequent as I thought it would.
However, just to be sure I have looked ahead on epg and can only go as far as Sunday's listing (ie Monday onwards listing isn't showing) so I will purposely wait and check Tuesday to see if I still have an epg.
I will report back on Tuesday re epg.Last edited by bbb_uk; 18 January, 2014, 11:59.Comment

Further to my last post having just put box back into standby having checked epg date (within xmltv epg network app), it now displays 'epg' where normally the time is displayed. Last time I tried just going into xmltv and then exiting then standby nothing happened but now it is.
I'm starting to think that maybe the epg does update but it is rarely done (ie maybe once a week, or twice if lucky).Comment

I tried updating mine today manually and it just says 'channel download failed'....yet the network connection is fine.
Changed my USB HDD over to a pendrive I normally use for EPG and it worked 1st time...odd but one of those things I guess...normally don't have the HDD connected for anything but watching videos from it but thought I'd just have the EPG data on it anyway.Last edited by genam; 18 January, 2014, 15:02.Comment

So, if using a wifi dongle getting a 7 day guide with XML facility is not an option?Comment
