will this work for the f5 or not? It's all very confusing for a simpleton like me.
If it won't work for the f5 could someone point me in the right direction as I'm having a few issues and would like to try and update it.

Definitely not. There was an updated firmware release for the Official F5 in December but it was only to fix Youtube etc.

so would this not fix my freezing issues? It hasn't been updated since June.

OK, yet another updated firmware has been released for the F5S and F3S boxes dated the 24/12/13. These are the official Skybox downloads. Release notes state that the new software adds a new timer record function and a PICON function. The PICON function adds a channel identity image to the info banner of the channel you are viewing. Rather than start a new thread I've edited this post and posted the official Skybox releases here, the top download is the normal official box software and the middle download is the software to add the PICON function ( extract the file and place the relevant .ics file for your satellite e.g. 0282E directly onto your USB or hard drive ). The bottom download is a newly released official Skybox PICON tool which can be used to edit the icons in the .ics file :

This is a known issue with the original Libertview firmware - possibly by design when selling the boxes due to legal issues. This issue is resolved by updating the firmware. You have 2 choices. You can either visit the official Libertview site and download their latest firmware which has limited features or you can download the latest Skybox firmware posted below which gives you a 7 day epg but will change your start up image from Libertview to Skybox.

Hi just received a f5s done all updates channel list working picons working great nice little feature!

I take ii if you use a wifi connector picons are not available is there anyway around this?

No as there is only one usb port.

You can try powerline adapters (search this forum for more info).

Also, what version of firmware did u upgrade? The latest one is dated 22/01/14 (this is an old thread). The post before yours has a link to the newer firmware.
